Herb Magic: An Introduction to Magical Herbalism and Spells

Great book for beginners. Love it

Simple yet powerful facts of the universe and its physics. This is a Great references book and a basic how to do list before you even start. I love the breakdown of astrology, elements, color correspondence, and vibrations usuage for each herb. These are quantum physics facts even to its sacred geometry which is the whole deal before you even begin a ritual/spell. Most books do not explain that and for the new beginners this is just the book for you. Not all magick includes wands, candles, crystals, etc.. BUT ALL MAGICK includes herbs. Namaste

Another addition to my Herbal library. Good for general information.

I love this book and am happy that I purchased it, even tho I’ve been a witch for several years. The main reason I love it is because it contains a kind of encyclopedia of several herbs, listing their qualities and magical uses as one section of the book...and then ALL the spells in the remainder of the book make use of ONLY those herbs. So it’s kind of a self contained ‘kit’, if you will. If you have the 25 or so herbs in the encyclopedia portion, you have what you need to do any spell or working in the whole rest of the book. And to someone like me, who can be kind of unorganized, this is a huge plus. It means that if you realize at the last minute that it’s an esbat, you can go to this book and find a recipe that you know you have the ingredients for. Same for one of those spells for which a need instantly appears in the spur of the moment. Buy the book, collect the herbs, and you are set. Never again will you be disappointed that you can’t do a working because you are missing 3 of the 6 ingredients in a spell you just looked up online. I’m super happy I purchased this book and use it regularly.

This is my second Patti Wigington book. I bought the paperback version first (love the design and layout) and now have bought the Kindle version. I like that she goes over the basics before getting into the ingredients first. I personally do not want a thick volume on EVERY type of herb and its magical uses, as I consider myself a dabbler more than anything. Although some ingredients are more difficult to procure than others, I gather from the information she's written on each herb and its properties that many can be substituted with something else; I am not picky in this front. I find most of the spells to be pretty straightforward, too. My favorites are Basil Wisdom and Thyme Teller Guidance Charm. Some online herbal sellers have the more hard-to-get ingredients, but I would recommend starting with what's available locally and can be used in food (especially if you like "food magic") to avoid potential wastefulness. As a con, I only wish that the author/publisher would offer some of her books in EPUB format with other ebook sellers. I am moving from paper to digital (hence why I re-bought some of Patti Wigington's books as ebooks), and my preference is always EPUB because I can use it on more of my legacy e-Readers than Amazon's popular-yet-proprietary Kindle format.

After the second and third entries I wanted to drop everything including my own writing gather up the supplies I've been accumulating and go to work. I especially like the fact the author uses items I'm more likely to have on hand. I didn't find that my interest was stirred only to be put on hold where I had to go to the Internet to purchase something and then wait for the mail. Thank you w that. Mountain writer.

This book is a must to add to your Book of Shadows! It contains a vast amount of information regarding herbs, their metaphysical properties, how you can use them in spells, as well as giving you the actual ingredients and tools needed for the spell. This book references how you can obtain the herbs and many other books are referenced for your future reading. I read this on my kindle and now plan to purchase the actual book. It’s a definite must have for witches!

The book is spiral bound so it's easy to read without the hassle of pages turning accidentally when you set the book down. Very informative and easy to follow instructions.

A beautiful book and very interesting Well written

This is a fab little book. beautifully illustrated herbs, simple classic layout, easy to read, and helpful. As a witchlet myself i found this book very helpful and easy to understand, giving you tools to start your own path and research. Thank you Patti Wigington, this is the type of herb book I've been looking for :)

Good depth of knowledge for a beginner's book. If you are looking to get started in this field this is a good place to start.

Really nice little book. Cover and pages have a great feel to them and it would make a sweet gift. Decent text size and full of info.
