Cricut Joy

brill little machine. in the starter bundle: you get the machine, matless silver vinyl tester (you can use to test, i just made use out of it as you can skip that), weeder tool, pen tool (to get the machine to draw instead of cut), a small cardstock blue tester sheet, small card mat, pack of greeting card inserts, small roll of transfer paper, a 5 pack of matless vinyl (in colours i would describe as peach, coral, seafoam, azure, mustard). the machine does a brilliant job in very quick time. i’m not super tech savvy but found it pretty easy to wrap my head around the mechanics. compact enough to easily store without having to clog up a desk. cons for me, are that: - matless vinyl is very difficult to get off the backing. the transfer tape doesn’t seem to really be strong enough to pull it off so it takes a lot of faff for me personally - it feels quite wasteful that there is so big of a border around the edges - i ordered a pack of vinyl (because you pretty much have to, unless you want to use only the aforementioned bright freebies) only to realise i also needed to order a new mat to make use of the full length of said vinyl sheet - i find it a bit confusing trying to work out exactly how much space i can use, because of said border around the cutting area - certain tools in the design app are frustrating. for example weld. when creating text that is cursive and overlaps, it naturally will cut over all lines (which in dark mode you’ll only see if you change the text to be non block) unless you weld. to weld you have to have selected multiple objects. annoying when you only want to print one thing! the vinyl senses fear. pull the transfer tape of without fear, and all will succeed.

Love this so much and it was a great price. Cuts accurately and works really well. Fun and easy to use once you are familiar with it.

So far so good. I have only cut out about 3 sheets of the permanent smart vinyl but the patterns I chose were very small with a lot of detail. They also weeded really nicely. I have a bigger Cricut but that is more of a pain to use unless you need to cut out the bigger sheets so the joy is perfect for the little things and so quick to set up if you keep it stored in its box or a bag. The only thing with this being the starter bundle you get blank card with it , I would have preferred more vinyl or label sheets to play with.

I love this product so much. It is a great product to choose if you need a compact space and don’t need to constantly work on larger projects. The value for money is amazing as the product gives you free access to a programme to design and make your product come to life. The quality has been great for the things I make with it. I would say it isn’t very easy to pick up and move because it is so smooth, it does make me worry that I’ll drop it. I’d happily recommend this to anyone who is crafty.

First time using one of these machines. I love it. Great for beginners and very easy to get used to.

What an absolute joy to use.. No pun intended, Ive come from silhouette to cricut and im so glad i did.. Works straight out of the box.. Love it

For the price paid, you get a toy. Where to start? The software is a disgrace. For the price you pay you would think the software will be able to cut two layer but oh no, god forbid it! You have to pay for subscription otherwise it simply will not cut anything that is more than one layer. The layout of the cut is terrible: you start with loosing a good inch of the vinyl to begin with which wouldn't be a big issue if the vinyl itself wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Than the machine itself: good little design. Compact and doesn't take up much space. HOWEVER the amount of times it jammed and absolutely destroyed the vinyl its unacceptable. The Bluetooth connection half of the time does not work - any other bluetooth related product works without issue with the laptop - which again, I could turn an eye to it but there has been 4 separate occasion where the cricut simply stopped midway through a project, lost connection and I had to restart the design because it would simply not connect again - which obviously destroyed the vinyl once again. Absolutely regret buying this and for anyone out considering getting one, look around for anything else because this does not worth the price, not one bit.
