OtterBox Commuter Series Case for Galaxy S20+/Galaxy S20+ 5G (ONLY - Not Compatible with Any Other Galaxy S20 Models) - Black

June 9 2024 update Well I've had this case now for 3 almost 4 years now and it's cracked on the bottom where the charge port is. It's a tiny crack and the thing still protects my phone. The soft shock absorbing material on the inside of the hard case is peeling and falling apart on all sides. The one portion that covers the power button underneath the two volume buttons has fallen off. Honestly? This thing still protects my phone so I don't NEED a new one but I am definitely ordering this thing again. For the price it is and lasting almost 4 years. It's worth it to me. I've always been a fan of practicality over gaudiness. I don't need a "fabulous" phone case. I just need a good sturdy one. This case surprised me as most of the Otterbox cases I've seen are always huge and bulky and seriously high priced. This is my first one and I have to say I appreciate how thin it is but also does what other phone cases I've had do, and that is to protect the phone when it drops. I have had it now for two and a half weeks and I've dropped my phone more times than a heavy smoker chain smokes in a day. Despite my clumsy abuse of my phone there isn't a single crack on the thing and I had even dropped my phone down a flight of stairs. I guess it's all luck also because I've seen people with this case and their screen is cracked but the phone had fell on an edge and the screen itself hit the edge so that wasn't phone case being ineffective it was just bad luck. I see people also complaining about the charging port flap that it breaks off after a while and mine hasn't done that but I imagine in time it might. My family always had Otterbox cases and they all had the same phone charging port flaps that broke in time. Honestly that doesn't bother me because I care about my phone being protected not about my phone case, it's there to take punishment and protect my phone not look pretty. My only issue us with the inside shock absorbing portion hugging my phone so tight it flared up the screen protector on the sides. This isn't really a "deal breaker" but it was a little sad to see happen. Overall I'm extremely satisfied and would recommend this case to Galaxy S20+ users who aren't concerned about a pretty phone case.

I was so happy to be able to find an Otterbox case at a cheaper price here on Amazon. And it's an authentic Otterbox which was a relief. I had my last phone for approx. 4 years and dropped it constantly. The Otterbox case was cracked and in bad shape, but my phone didn't have a scratch on it. The commuter series is a one piece design that doesn't add much bulk to the phone, but offers exceptional protection. These cases are expensive, but so are cell phones so I'm willing to pay for great quality. The only con is the very limited color selection. Otterbox is the ONLY case I buy for my phones and I highly recommend them.

I seem to drop my phone more than I would like. This has protected my phone after drops well. This Otter Box is slimmer than others so fits in my pocket without being too bulky.

Had this same case on my Samsung S8+ and now that I upgraded to an S20+5G I needed a new case. This looks to be as good a quality as my previous one. The top and bottom lips on the face extend out so you can lay the phone face down and not have it rest on the glass. But my old one had a nice rounded lip and my new one is almost sharp to a pointed edge all the way across (in picture top of old one on left, top of new one on right). Thing is soooooo many things you do on the phone is a swipe down from the top. Old one my finger could slide right over the lip. New one is taller and sharp and I need to place my finger under the lip and swipe down, can't just slide down from above the top. If I just swipe down the lip makes my finger hit the glass lower than you can swipe so it doesn't swipe down and with the thin edge it sort of grabs your finger. Annoying but still a good case. 2020-1212 UPDATE - The problem with swiping from the top and having my finger 'ski jump' over the swiping area (basically it doesn't swipe when I swipe down) got really annoying. So took things into my own hands and, as you can see in the second photo, I used my Dremel and a sanding disk, and I sanded down the top lip in the middle area (of course without my phone in it.... duh). This slightly exposes the top edge of the phone so when I swipe down my finger glides smoothly down from the top of the screen and swipes perfectly every time. Might not be the prettiest of alterations but it dang well works great! Going to contact OtterBox and make the suggestion. *******STILL NEED TIX FIX THIS********* My Ottorbox lasted for a long time on my phone but it started showing signs of my abuse. So I ordered another one and SAME ISSUE. Love the case but it's pretty much impossible to swipe down from the top of the screen. It's like trying to sweep over a curb. You guys really REALLY need to use these before selling them. Try all the phone operations. If you say it's easy to swipe down from the top, you would not be telling the truth. Love the case, HATE THE TOP EDGE!!!!

Works great

I bought this for my phone when I purchased it in 2020. It finally chipped a small section on the bottom of after a drop (not a full break). I have dropped my phone dozens of times over 2 years and it has always come out in perfect condition. Otterbox Commuter Series is a must buy to protect your phone! I don't think I'll ever be able to buy any other kind of case now!

Amazing case and well worth the cost. I have previously bought TPU made cases for my phone and this is my first personal otter box. This case makes then phone feel like quality. It's sturdy and not slippery like most cases made only of UTP The wireless charging worked reliably on my wireless charger with the case on. The biggest cons are cost and weight. The case does add a noticable amount of weight.

I recently upgraded to the S20+ from the galaxy S7 so I wanted a phone case that had a slim profile since I wasn't used to such a big phone. This case fills that purpose. I have always had the incipio cases that have the 2 layer design (flexible rubber inside of the harder plastic case) and they have always done a good job of protecting my phone. So I expect this will do the same. My only complaint is the color in the picture makes the case look a little darker than it actually is.

I bought this product to protect my new phone and so far it has done just that. I have dropped my phone many times on hard surfaces and this has not cracked or ruined my phone at all. The only thing I wish this case had that my old Otterbox case has was the order of the double layer. I find with the hard shell on the outside, my phone slips around a lot in my hands ( when they are dry) and on the arm of my chair when I am sitting in the living room and want my phone close by. My old case has the rubber on the outside so it didn't slip at all and I find this one doesn't have enough of the rubber exposed to stop slippage. I am unable to use my old case as my old phone is a different model and was unable to find the one I had for this current phone. Overall I am happy with the protection this case has provided and will continue to use it.

Leider ist bereits nach kurzer Zeit die Hülle defekt. Sie bekommt Risse und es brechen Teile des Hartplastiks raus. Hab wirklich mehr erwartet von der Hülle!
