Vet One Ketohex Spray, 8 oz

My dog has terrible allergies and has yeast flare ups a lot. He's currently on an elimination diet and in the build up phase of immunotherapy, so we don't have all the kinks worked out just yet. I bought this before we started all of that hoping to help his yeast issues, and it's come in handy a lot. First off, my dog has a naturally bobbed tail, so most of his oil glands are actually on the tip of his tail since it's so short. His allergies caused stud tail, which is excess oil production and clogged pores. It caused a lot of the hair on his tail to fall out. I've been using ketohex on his tail along with douxos3 pyo mousse and it has cleared up a lot of his irritation. The vet had me trim his tail so that I can keep it cleaner and apply meds easier. Unfortunately I don't really have a good before picture because it was hard to get one before I trimmed his hair. Please don't judge his weird little tail, it's much cuter with hair 😅 he has a little flap of skin on the end so it looks very odd with no hair. But you can see the sores and clogged pores in the pics. It was covered in scabs so it is definitely improving. I apply ketohex 2x a day to it. We go back in a few weeks for her to look at it again. All winter his feet would be very yeasty smelling after going out in the snow. I don't know why the snow makes them smell 10x worse than just rain, but they were absolutely awful. I would spray them with ketohex when he came in and the yeast odor would disappear. He never had any redness or anything, just odor. Since it stopped snowing I haven't really been using it as much on his feet and everything was fine until this past week. He's been out digging for ground squirrels and his back feet have gotten red and inflamed so I've been putting ketohex on them for the last 2 days. This is the first time his feet have gotten this bad so I'm not sure if it's allergies (it's only his back feet?!) or if he injured them somehow, but the ketohex should keep them from getting any worse and will hopefully clear them up. If not we will have to go back to the vet! My only complaint about ketohex is for some reason the little piece that makes the mist on the pump will fly out while I'm using it. I uploaded a picture of that too. I had to buy a different spray bottle for it, which actually makes application a lot easier. I'm not sure if I just got a defective bottle or if they are all that way, but if you put it in a regular spray bottle it makes life so much easier. I find it hard to hold the original bottle at the angles I need for his feet, so the new bottle has really helped with that. It also smells really good, but if you breathe in the mist it's not a pleasant experience lol. I think the original bottle sprays a much finer mist because I was always accidentally breathing it in before I got the new bottle for it. With the old bottle I'd have to spray like 5 pumps to get the coverage that I get with one pump on the new bottle. So I HIGHLY recommend putting it in a better bottle. Of all the things I've used on his this is probably one of the less costly, and it's worked very well. I will definitely be ordering more when we run out because it has many uses and it works! If his feet clear up without us needing to go to the vet, I'll definitely update this review to let you know!

Ketohex is very easy to apply and very effective. Ketohex is 1% ketoconazole (an anti-fungal) and 2% chlorhexidine (a disinfectant and antiseptic). It is a liquid, it comes in a spray bottle, and it is reasonably priced. I have had many fungal problems over the years, and Ketohex usually clears it up in just a couple of applications. Ketohex is a veterinary product, so it is designed to soak through hair and fur. Unfortunately, it has a slightly unpleasant odor, but the odor seems to go away in about 30 minutes. Since Ketohex is a veterinary product, if you use it on yourself, you will not be using it according to directions. Use it at your own risk. Talk to your doctor about it before you use it. Be careful with it. Do not spray it on your face. Keep it out of your eyes, nose, mouth, and ears.

Yes yes and yes. This works. My dog keeps the yeasty hot spots and the spray it helping so much. I ordered 2 more of them today!! Also ordered more of the shampoo I use with the spray. Awesome combo

We prefer the round pads in the jar instead of the spray. The dog doesn't like the spray action so we spray it on cotton cosmetic pads first, then wipe paws.

useful to help decrease skin itch. Spray makes it easy. half of what the vet clinic was charging (same ingredients).

I will always buy this product to help heal my pup's skin. It not o ly heals but protects it. Will always buy this

Amazon’s review guidelines don’t let me get into specifics on this (my first review was rejected), but this spray works as advertised. After using it for about a week on my Samoyed (read lots of thick fur) for a skin condition, he’s pretty much back to normal. It didn’t have to use much of this product and still had more than half a bottle left after using it as I’ll describe. I used this spray twice a day for the first three days, followed by once a day for three more days, followed up by once a day a week later. I worked the spray down to the skin using my fingers and wore gloves even though the instructions don’t mention any issue with getting it on your own skin. My dog had a skin issue that, after the first few days of using this, looked very much improved and continued to improve over the next several days. Frankly, this product exceeded my expectations and I plan to always have a bottle in my dog care kit. Highly recommended.

Very effective, my dog has a severe bacterial and fungal infection, after 3 weeks use, it’s getting better and better!
