Very good quality and flavor
Great quality and taste. I was a bit hesitant to try BUT this is amazing!! It is a great replacement for matcha but beware, has flavor. It dilutes really well. This one in particular is very good quality. It is a brownish color as opposed to matcha that is green.

Absolutely delicious
If you donโt like Matcha because of the grassy flavor, then you might want to check out this tea instead. It has the most comforting, delicious roasted flavor that Iโve ever tasted in a tea. It was divine when I combined it with half-and-half and then poured it over ice. The powder in this product also incorporates very well into a liquid, especially when itโs warm. You donโt even need water thatโs boiling for it to be stirred properly. I would actually recommend not bringing the water to a full boil because you will scold the tea and wreck the flavor. I will be buying this again. Thatโs how much I like it.

Good, but pricey
Very good taste of Hลjicha, but it's a bit too pricey with small amounts. Other than that, it's good

Decent, Affordable, Mild Hojicha Powder
As a long-time hojicha lover, I was searching for affordable powders to make into lattes. I prefer a stronger tea taste, so for straight hojicha, loose leaf would be better. For making lattes however (especially with latte art), powders are a must. This particular powder is decent for its price point. Unfortunately, due to the matcha shortage, all other sorts of leaves have been affected as well. So prices have risen across the board. This is now reflected in hojicha, which in the past had been cheaper due to the roasting process allowing for a much wider variety and quality of tea leaves. I've been seeing very high prices for some hojicha brands outside of Japan, which is quite crazy to me. So I've been on a quest to find a good, affordable hojicha powder. This powder is affordable and says Kyoto Uji, though I'm not 100% sure if that's the source as not much info is given. Also the type of leaves that are roasted isn't specified. It does have JONA organic certification for those who care about such things, though organic teas are more a Western concept. (Many smaller family owned tea farms either aren't aware of this or don't have the capabilities to go through the approvals process). As for taste, the most important factor, it's a mix. This powder is definitely on the lighter side. In a latte, flavors need to be bolder to stand out amidst the milk. This goes for both matcha and hojicha. I had to use fairly high ratios of this powder to get sufficient taste (greater than 1:10), though it came at the cost of mouthfeel. These higher ratios felt dry and powdery, and settled very quickly in lattes. It made the drinking experience less enjoyable. Despite all this, it's not a bad powder in that there are no strong tastes that might be unpleasant for some. It's not smoky or dark, not musty or too earthy, and not too nutty either. It's just mild and somewhat pleasant, like a polite neighbor. Nothing to be excited about, but nothing to be offended by either. Given the price point, this is a decent powder. Personally, because I've been a hojicha drinker for many years, I need something stronger for lattes. But this would be a great powder for hojicha beginners and those not preferring stronger roasts.

Great for Hojicha Lattes
I wanted to make my own iced hojicha lattes at home and this product does the trick. I mix about a half teaspoon in 1/3 cup of hot water and pour into a standard glass that has ice and 1 1/2 cup oat milk. I sweeten to taste with liquid stevia but Iโm sure regular sugar or brown sugar would work just fine as well. The hojicha flavor has those distinct matcha notes and almost like a burnt rice flavor which I like. If you donโt mix it well enough, it might feel gritty. I would order this again when I run out but a little goes a long way.

Not so great
Not very good quality. To me it tastes more like Thai tea not so much like hojicha. Very weak hojicha flavor. And itโs taste sweet without adding sugar which makes me feel like it might have added sugar. I would not buy again.
