I have am audi a6 2010, i have checked the software version and it is a bnav-eu-p0029-d1, so will this work to play my music?

I don't know about 2010 Audis, I have a VW Scirocco (2010) and this adapter plugs into my car without an issue. I then just link my phone to the Media/AUX setting in my in-car system. Hope this helps!

Worked with my polo mk5. how do you put it back into pairing mode to pair with another/different phone? there are no buttons to trigger that process.

I would think you plug it into the vehicle and search for the device, I don't know of any other way.
