The best bumblebee at this size, it might be overpriced but well worth it!
This was a surprise gift for my 7 year old boy. It came a day later than his birthday but the wait was worth it. The toy is made with great details and looked amazing. My son loves it and says itโs the best birthday present ever. Although a few buyers had conplained about its size, I actually thought the size is just right for his age and he can take it anywhere he wants. Which is great! Ok, not all the colour tones are the same which means some parts has lighter or a darker shade of yellow. But overall it was ok, pretty acceptable for a kidโs toy. The parts do come off easily when you transform it but it was easy to put them back together again. No big deal. I rather them being a bit loose than if they are too tight because we had transformers that are too rigid and broke off when we tried to transform them. So keep this in mind. It was easy to transform the car into a robot but was quite hard to do it back. Now my boy canโt do it himself at the moment but Iโm sure he will be able to do it in a few days. Just takes a bit of getting use to. The learning curve should be plain. The overall product is brilliant. Itโs cool, and looks the part. Iโve looked a while for a product like this. Others either looks too easy or they are too big to take around to play. And the main thing is, there arenโt many Camaro Bumblebee around. This only grudge I have is the shipping time. For standard shipping it said it will take around 15-20 working days and for expedited shipping it said 5-10 working days. So I chose the expedited shipping since itโs for a birthday. The thing was the expected arrival date was exactly the same for both options but one just costs more. I thought there was an error and chose the expedited shipping anyway but the arrival date remained the same. I was very upset about this and asked Amazon about this. They said the arrival date was clearly displayed before I agreed to pay for the expedited shipping fee. There is nothing they can do about it. So I just had to accept it and felt miserable. Luckily it came within 10 working days but still a day later than when I wanted it. This and the overall quality of the product made everything better and Iโm willing to give it a whopping 5 stars. A great product. The price could be cheaper though... ๐ but the again, itโs pretty scarce.

What's it worth to you?
If you are reading my review, thanks. If you notice, my ratings are a little muttled. The reason for that being, is that I am a collector of sorts. I have seen the movie, and yes ficticious characters based on comics, cartoons, and tv shows I find intriuging. Thus, I don't believe in playing with or opening anything I collect. It's a little obessive compulsive but I feel as though it's a stepping stone to something else. Why do we collect such things? Are they worth anything? Maybe there's something missing in our lives. What makes us indulge in these seemingly meaningless pleasures? I had an entire collection of action figures that were unopened and in mint condition. All it does is just create a burdon. The true test, however, is just letting go of such desires. So one day, my wife and I gathered up all of my toys, went to my neighbor's house, and gave his children my entire collection. Your prohably thinking, "WHAT, ARE YOU CRAZY!!!"...prohably. Though they may have been in value to someone on ebay, you can't put a price on the look on those kids faces when they looked in the boxes. I felt a slight sting. But it quickly dissapeared when my burdon melted away. We stayed over to help them with dinner and watched his kids play with their first toys in prohably 5 years. It was quite a sight. I never knew that my toys did any of the things they did. I watched them play with everything from my spider-man and x-men to transformer figures. His oldest daughter loved my bumblebee transformer most of all. I noticed in other reviews that he falls apart to easily or it has poor construction. Not True. However, if you give it to someone who does not have the patience or cool to handle such a toy, i recommend the lower skill level counter-part. All in all, it was well worth seeing them have so much fun with accumulative joys. What's it worth to you? <12:36 am> - - -

Fun but not durable
I purchased this toy as a Christmas present for my 8-year-old nephew. He was absolutely ecstatic to get it and began enjoying it immediately. It soon became apparent that the transformation is a bit complicated and the main ball-joint that keeps the two main body parts together gives way much too easily. While my nephew had a blast, we had to continually keep rejoining the two halves during each transformation. Although the constant coming apart and the complicated transformation draw away from its other qualities, it is nonetheless a fun toy for a boy who is crazed with cars and Transformers.

Great toy, but the transformation from Autobot back to a car is quite difficult
I am writing this review on behalf of my 9-1/2 year old son who simply loves Transformers. After saving up enough of his allowance money, he insisted on getting this particular Autobot Transformer. He felt that the transformation from the Camaro concept car to Autobot was a piece of cake. The transformation back to Camaro concept car, however, was a different story. The instructions were no help since they only showed how to transform from the car to Autobot (i.e. no reverse instructions). He eventually figured it out, and can now do it in about 3-5 minutes, but it was no walk in the park. After reading the other reviews, we definitely feel your pain. But don't lose hope. It can be done!! Once you've accomplished it, you feel like you can climb Mt. Everest. It's a real confidence builder, especially for young boys (and some old ones too). Below is some helpful advice: 1) The toy is built to be handled roughly (within reason), so don't be afraid to twist (by hand), push, and pull the various parts of the toy. 2) From Autobot mode, my son believes that the toy is easier to convert back to a car if you separate the top of the Autobot (torso up) from the bottom of the Autobot (pelvis down). Simply, pull them apart. The front of the car is definitely more challenging than the back, but after a while you'll get the hang of it. 3) If all else fails, go to [...] and type "Bumblebee Transformers, concept car". I thought of this after the fact, but this might be helpful to a few people out there who are at their wits' end. A couple of the videos are pretty informative and take you through the transformation process (step by step). Parents may want to preview the videos before their kids do. Some of the videos are more age appropriate than others. Could our good friends at Hasbro have made the process easier (i.e. include a good set of reverse instructions)? You bet!! However, the challenge for my son was a lesson in patience, determination, and ultimately conquest. He didn't give up, even after dear old dad called it quits. I was proud of him. LS

Deluxe Bumblebee is a GREAT transformer
I got the Ultimate Bumblebee for Xmas, and since my son really liked it, I decided to get him (and me) the Deluxe Bumblebee. It is much smaller than the Ultimate BB, but I really like how it transforms from car to autobot. As much as I like the Ultimate BB and the sounds it makes, I think that if Hasbro would make the Ultimate BB more like the Deluxe version, it would be a HUGE seller. The Deluxe version is more slender, more like the Movie Bumblebee. Mind you, I have NO intention of scrapping my Ultimate! The Deluxe is a great toy for a child to play with, and great for a collector to have as well. Some people have complained about the high price to pay to get this, and all I can say is "shop around". I paid a little over $20 for each of them, and it was worth it to me.

Happy Christmas 2011
Awesome transformer! BUT....don't get frustrated when you cannot figure out how to transform it back and forth at first (yes, even with the instructions). And be gentle when transforming it in the beginning until you get the feel, we popped Bumblebees arms and head off in the learning process, our son freaked out a little, but he is ok. Luckily they pop right back on. Just today was the first time I was able to transform it without the directions! Feeling pretty proud of myself! And my son is thrilled too! (It was his Christmas present but mom is loving it too.) Lol.

Would have been perfect if Amazon didn't stick labels on them.
Great movie version of the car. Perfect in fact like the reviews say. Price was good too. Lately Amazon has been getting weird shipping things though. Bent books, and now a sticker that tore up the card when I tried to remove it (they did not do this when I bought things when Amazon ran Toys R Us). If you don't mind how the package looks then maybe the prices will come down again but I would not recommend Amazon's shipping if you are a collector. They don't seem to take they care they once did when the packed items.
