Well made and very handy to use, as it saves a lot of hand and finger twisting if you do more than a few wiring jobs. Could also work for 'I have one and you don't' among friends.... Especially made for wire nuts with wings on the sides, as they fit into the slots well, but the wire nuts without wings are prone to slip inside the tool. If I can figure out a way to make the inside of the tool less slippery so the regular wire nuts don't slip it should be a lot more useful. Maybe a very thin coat of tool handle spray coating that looks like vinyl? We shall see. RM

This thing is fantastic!!! No more sore fingers from twisting wire nuts all day long with my fingers. I don't know what people are doing to break these, because if you use them correctly this should last a life time. I worry more about losing it rather than breaking it. For proper usage, twist the wires together with good pair of lineman pliers. Snip the tips on both wires so they are the exact same length and that one wire is not pointing out at the end, otherwise it could pop out the end of the wire nut. Then hand twist the nut on about two turns just to hold it on the wires. Use this twister for about two or three turns and its set good and tight. Awesome tool!!!

This thing works excellent the only thing you have to watch out is when using nuts that do not have the wings on them if it's not fully pushed in and you go a little trigger-happy it will spin the inside of this out. But I have successfully used it on everything from an orange all the way up to a blue with and without the little wings on them. the electrician's that I work with have never even seen one of these and every last one of them has bought one after using mine. I do recommend for the cost buy 2 because one of them will eventually get worn out when you're in the middle of a job.

Nice to tighten the wirenut. I don't use it on a drill, I just use it with my screw driver kit.

This tool works great. It is saving a lot of wear and tear on my hands. Be sure you have the ends of all the wires flush because if one is longer than the others it is easy to overdrive the wire nut and send the long wire poking out the end of the nut. I am using it in a small 4.5 volt drill which turns fairly slowly which allows me to control the tool well and between the low speed of the tool and making sure all the wires are the same length I have stopped the issue of the wires poking out the end of the nut. I recommend this tool for anyone who uses wire nuts. It is a hand saver.

Use it all the time at work, easy to pre load a wire nut and have it ready to go. Fits my pouch perfectly, i don’t keep bits in my impact in case it drops so this functions well in a quick change application for me

I didn’t do in a in depth test, tried it on a couple wire nuts but I had also bought a different brand with a metal bit that allowed me to both twist wires and install wire nuts with the same bit, because of that it got tossed to the bottom of the bag. It did seam to show signs of wear after just a couple, and the size compared to the other one didn’t seem justified.

Glad I made this purchase. Roughing in a new commercial building meant plenty of 12AWG joints which caused my trigger finger (tenosynovitis) to flare up. The XL easily twisted the wires and installed the wire-nut. The only issue I had was that you can easily over-twist your joint if you are not careful. Additionally, the wires need to be cut to the same length and held evenly at the sheath otherwise the longer wire will penetrate the top of the wire-nut when tightened. Bottom line: Since I've been using the XL, I've nearly tripled the number of joints I made and my wrist and carpal tunnel have not bothered me when I got home.

Tired wrist, or doing alot of splicing? This is a great tool to have. Is best if you have a seperate impact to put it in so you don't have to swap bits, but still good none the less.

I've always been very skeptical of electricians who don't pretwist their, but after I got Carpol Tunnel someone at work recommended these. The first dozen or so connections I neurotically checked every connection that they were tight and was pleasantly surprised. I recommend using with the dewalt gryo driver, but apparently they are being discontinued so something lightweight and low powered would be best. Do not use on an impact driver!!!
