Giving a flat wall some dimensionality is very cool. Unfortunately this product did not live up to my expectations. First off, the product itself is much like a heavy-duty paper plate. On it’s own it’s not very attractive. You WILL have to paint them. The wall flat does not come primed. You will have to prime them before painting; otherwise the product will sop up paint like a sponge. I also recommend that you paint them with a primer and first coat on the ground before installing them, as the shape does not make them very easy paint once installed. This process is very time intensive. It took a couple days working on and off to prime and paint 40 of these tiles. Installing the tiles was not too difficult. I used heavy duty adhesive with instant grip, which held the tiles down well. I also used painter’s tape to keep them in place while the adhesive dried a bit. The challenge is that these tiles are not entirely square. They seem to bow out just a bit in the centers of the tile. This means you will have some filling to of the seams. Filling and sanding of the seams to get a seamless look is downright impossible. The tiles also expand and contract with temperature, causing the seams to crack. This was quite a disappointment. All and all, I spent a ton of time on this project- far more than I expected. The results look not bad, but it certainly isn’t perfect. I’d find a different product next time around. Pros: Gives your walls some dimensionality Cons: Does not come primed. At this price they should come pre-primed from the manufacturer. Not exactly square. Hard to paint. Thin gaps between tiles are hard to fill.
