Old school hard copy comes through again.
I still love a hard copy book I can rip apart and carry around pages as needed. Devices die, WiFi is spotty, but pages ripped from a book can always be trusted. Lonely Planet has been my go to for years. Love it. Thorough, thoughtful, and socially conscious.

Nice, but outdated.
Lots of good information, but with the newest edition coming out next year, it's obvious that a fair amount of the prices (like those for the Gorilla tracking) have changed significantly.

Not researched properly
I've used Lonely Planet guide books for years - and I love them. But I think this latest edition of LP East Africa was not researched properly. (I'm writing this review from Uganda after travelling in East Africa and using this guide book for 4 months.)

I've used this book extensively while traveling in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. A lot of great information that is still relevant in 2018!
