The Cosby Show - The Complete Series

Super-fast arrival from the seller. Very impressive. Never having seen much of the series when it first aired, I began catching up with it on Prime and liked it so much that I bought the box set. There are a few caveats from other reviewers re: the disc playback quality (the packaging design is a bit flimsy) but so far, they're playing ok...it obviously will take a while to go through 8 seasons, and I'll update the review if necessary. As far as program content: in spite of the negative press re: Cosby's personal situation, the series as a whole deserves a place of honor. It's produced, directed and written by industry veterans who are just as talented in their craft as the gifted cast members. Can you imagine the show without Phylicia Rashad and the young actors? It admittedly portrays a very idealized family (even the children's school friends show impeccable manners at the Huxtable home.....how many of your kid's buddies display such respect??) but then, there's nothing wrong with setting a good example. Overall, The Cosby Show promotes family unity and should be remembered as an important part of television history. UPDATE 3/18/19: Finishing up the last episodes of the series, on the last DVD: and they all played fine, no technical problems. This was my first look at the later seasons, not having seen them when they first aired, or in reruns. On the last disc or two, my interest lagged a bit as the growing Huxtable children made fewer and fewer appearances, their reduced screen time filled in with multiple new characters (various relatives, friends, friends of relatives.) Aside from that, the series itself--well-produced, written, and performed--remains a great example of a rapidly-disappearing treasure: the wholesome family comedy.

I'm half way through the discs. 2 of the disc have a slight skip. But it wasn't that much that it caused to much problems. I love watching shows from my past. I wish they still had TV shows like this on to watch.

Thank you! This box set gave me more than I could have imagined or hoped for. It brought me back to my childhood. The lessons, love for art, love for family, love for education, love of music and did I mention family. Being able to purchase this and watch every season and episode made my heart smile. I look forward to watching them again and again and again.

The sitcom is hilarious with good acting and a good cast. The Huxtables are a great African American family and growing up I always wanted to be a part of the family! Seaons One to Four were the best but then it went downhill after Cousin Pam, Martin and Olivia Kendall joined the show and the show wasn't the same after actress Lisa Bonet left the series twice! I liked the series finale when Theo graduated from NYU and Thursday night would never be the same! An absolute gem of a tv show , much better than the rubbish you get nowadays

Achtung Verkäufer ist aus den USA. NICHT ABSPIELBAR in Deutschland zudem kostet der Rückversand in die UK 17€. Und bei der Erstattung hab ich statt 66€ auch nur 49€ bekommen. 34€ für nix. Das ist nicht kundenfreundlich und sehr ärgerlich.

I wrestled with whether or not to purchase this set bc of Bill Cosby’s crimes. In the end, I’m SOOOO glad I did. It has given our family of 6 (with significant age gaps between children) endless viewing enjoyment and bouts of laughter. Everyone LOVES the show! Further, certain episodes have triggered very high-quality quality conversations. So far all cds work and packaging was in- tact. My order arrived earlier than expected. We’re currently only on season 2 but I already have my money’s worth . I would DEFINITELY buy again.
