Pros and cons....
Prior to putting out this ant bait, there were lots of ants coming into the house (like 30-100 or so ants) from different locations, which changes here and there, some locations more than others, it was very frustrating. This area of housing, all have ant problems. I think the ants we have here are Argentine Ants. >>Ant bait started: 06/24/2016 Pros: Very simple to use and attract ants very fast after they find the deadly concoction, then the ants just keep coming and going into the bait trap. Cons: Instructions state to push the white thin plastic cap down to break the seal, then twist a 1/4 turn. It's almost impossible to twist the 1/4 turn after pushing the cap down, since the white plastic cap is so flimsy and held tight by 4 clips, the cap just get all squished up. Because of that, the first bait trap, I accidentally dripped out some of the concoction, which you can see the image review result of ants lapping it up like they were at an Irish pub. NOTE: With the next bait trap, I made sure part of the visible aluminum foil is pressed down as much as possible and twisted toward one of the four clips, then push the cap down, then carefully pull on one of the clips to loosen it up a bit, but not so hard to break it, then twist that 1/4 turn, that made it much easier to twist, then press down the top of the white cap to essentially squeeze the concoction out to leak into the inside of the trap faster. Just to get the ants to find it quicker, I carefully tip the trap to purposely spill a little bit of the concoction out on the ground and that gets the ants going quicker. Conclusion: So far, it seems to be attracting the ants very well, so 4 stars for now. I put out four traps outdoor at four different locations(probably four different colonies), once I see that if the ants stop coming into the house or the numbers drop dramatically, I'll update the star rating at that time. Sorry ants and Antman. >>UPDATE: 6/27/2016 Since I put out the four ant baits at different locations, I have not seen a single ant in the house. Some trails are starting to petered out, while others are still somewhat heavy, I guess two of the four colonies are bigger. Guess we'll see after a total of two weeks or so to see how it's working. So far, seems to be working, at least to keep the ants out of the house. >>UPDATE 7/1/2016 Still not a single ant in the house that I can find. Noticed two baits that most likely lead to one colony, started to petered out a LOT. I called the manufacturer, they suggested if that's the case, to take the baits away and do not put out new baits for at least a couple of days, if too soon, it'll just attract more ants from elsewhere. If the ants are back after a couple of days, then put out new baits. Next door neighbor said they started having ant issue about 2 days ago. Then not long after, I started noticing more ants with the remaining two baits(which I was about to take away), coming from the neighbor's side, probably another 2 colonies. Now, I have to leave those baits out longer, until it peters out. The manufacturer stated that the bait will last about 3 months. I keep mine shaded, to keep it from drying out quicker than it should. >>UPDATE 7/3/2016 Noticed ONE ant in the house on the kitchen counter. >>UPDATE 7/8/2016 Noticed a lot less(practically nothing) activities, so I called the manufacturer and they suggested taking the baits away and let them share what they've gotten thru the colonies, so I did. Still no ants in the house yet. >>UPDATE 7/10/2016 Found another heavy trail of ants in a different location, probably from the neighbor's house, so another ant bait is put out. Other than that, the previous ant baits that I've put out and finally thrown away, no more ants at those locations so far. >>UPDATE 8/3/2016 Found about 10 scout ants in the bedroom, but could not locate where they are coming from, nor any new heavy trails outside to put a new ant bait. It's still much better than before using this ant bait. >>UPDATE 9/7/2016 Noticed some ants coming into the master bedroom by chewing thru the painter's chaulk at the bottom of the baseboard about a week or two prior to this update, even though I patched up some tiny holes a couple of times. So, I put out a Terro indoor ant bait at that location, but they are not really going crazy for it. Then on 9/7, I noticed a new heavy ant trail outdoor where an existing outdoor ant bait was just taken away a few days before, so I put out another new outdoor ant bait in the same area and the ants are going for it. Man, this is like a never ending battle. Hence I have a small stock piled of this ant bait stuff. I've also updated from 4 to 5 stars, this bait really works if you use it right, to keep the ants from coming into the your home. >>UPDATE 11/26/2016 It's been about 2-2.5 months now since the last update, even when raining, have not seen a single ant in the house and I have yet to put out any new ant baits, either outdoor or indoor, but I do see a small amount of ants outside and hopefully they'll stay out. >>UPDATE 12/18/2016 After the recent rain, there are now ants in the house, coming through the caulking of the baseboard in the bathroom and living room, so started using the Terro indoor T300B ant baits and they are going bananas over it. No ants outdoor. See my new review of the indoor version at TERRO T300B 2-Pack Liquid Ant Baits >>UPDATE 04/25/2017 I have not seen a SINGLE ant anywhere inside the house since the last update, only a very tiny bit in the backyard, even after a lot of heavy rain lately. I don't know if it's the ant bait or me giving them the mad stare(I think it's the mad stare). Still, I hoarded a little stash of this ant bait in my garage, just in case if I need it. I'm ready for any new ant zombie apocalypse. >>UPDATE 06/20/2017 Wow, after about 5-6 months of not seeing a single ant, just noticed two heavy ant trails. One trail, the ants are getting thru the floor's heat vent, into the dinning room floor mainly and a little on the counter. I went to get this WMD and put out two baits outdoor, one at each location. Within an hour, with the first bait where the ants are coming into the house, the ants has already found the entrance to my new pub establishment and the customers are already lined up going in and out, free drinks for everyone, unfortunately, I won't get repeat customers. If this keeps up, I can open up a franchise of pubs, more stores than McD or Subway. >>UPDATE 07/28/2017 Still no ants in the house where they were coming in from the update of 06/20/2017. The one bait in the backyard still had heavy activities as of yesterday. Today, no actions, checked the bait, it was empty, I'm gonna take it away tonight and see if any ants will start coming into the house from the last location, if not, I'll leave them be. The other bait is still out and attracting ants and not empty yet. However, there are a minute of ants coming in from somewhere in the master bedroom and bathroom, starting about 1.5 weeks ago. A couple of days after, started seeing a few ants in the same kitchen area. I think this will be my last update and hope the other updates help with potential ant fighters to decide if this is right for them or not. Good luck to all with the never ending war :) >>UPDATE 9/6/2017 What the heck, I'll give one more update. A few days ago, it was very hot, the hottest it has been for a long time, the ants were on a rampage in the living room and bedroom, 100+ per room, one of the worse I've seen. Like the North Korean war, no matter how many you wipe out really quick, there is another swarm of them coming. For the dining room, they found one little food crumb and they came round about to get to it, I cleaned and vacuumed the area, put out an ant bait outdoor where they were coming in from the backyard, within an hour or two, no more ants in the living room and they went for the bait outside instead heavily. But, within two days, they petered out tremendously from the backyard and so I took the bait way. So far, barely any ants in the backyard and none in the living/dining room, so this area is done for now. The bedroom, holy crap, they were coming in drones, laid out two indoor baits, one leaked all over the wood floor over time, which attracted a lot of the little suckers. So, I decided to clean the area up of that very sticky stuff and removed the two baits, then put out a new outdoor bait instead and now they are going for that, not as many ants as before, but still a good amount, may take another few days or a week or two. After using both outdoor and indoor baits, I prefer the outdoor, does not spill as easily. >>UPDATE 05/04/2018 Sometime after the last update, there was a large number of ants coming from the backyard and into the house, so I put another bait out and this time I just left it out, ants or no ants. The ants comes and goes, but when they come, they find and go for the bait instead, therefore keeping them from going into the house. In the last 6+ months at least, I may have come across a few ants (less than 10) inside the house with one bait. As of this writing, the bait is still sitting outside shaded. >>UPDATE 08/11/2018 The freaking ants came in from a different location not long ago after the last update, cause they found something on the floor in the kitchen, cleaned in up, found the trail, put out more of this bait outdoor and they stopped coming in soon after. After leaving the baits out ALL the time in the new and old locations (OUTDOOR), no ants in the house. I even replaced the worn out bait at the old locations with new ones, ants or no ants, nothing still, for NOW! Won the battle again so far, but the war is never over! >>UPDATE 01/29/2019 Since I've been leaving the ant bait outdoor all the time, ants or no ants, I have not seen a single ant in the house. This may be the end of the Ant-Man trilogy. >>UPDATE 04/20/2019 Since I've been leaving out the outdoor ant bait, ants or no ants, have not seen a single ant in the house so far, F-ing A! >>UPDATE 09/01/2019 Since the last time I put out two new baits, it must've been atleast 6+ months, checked it here an there and noticed that there is still some weight inside, so they are no empty, noticed a very small amount of ants still going in and out of them and not a freaking one in the house. Cool mofo! Today, I decided to change them out for new ones, ones that I've had sitting in my garage stash for about a year+. The first one, I noticed that the liquid was not dripping out easily, like it's gummed up just by sitting around in the garage, so i put that one in one location anyway, had to push the cap down hard, then it would slowly drip out like very thick syrup, where it should be dripping like thin syrup. With the second one, I upside down it under hot water for about 5 mins before use, after that, when I shook it, you can hear the liquid moving inside, unlike the other gummed up one. Not sure if by heating it up with hot water, if it will gum up again soon after, but I took it to the 2nd location and dripped some out to get the ants going quicker, it dripped out smoothly, like if you just bought it recently. >>UPDATE 9/5/2019 Update from the previous 9/1/2019. I just looked at the one bait that I stated was gummed up without using hot water, ants are having a small pool party there without inviting me as the nice generous host(my feeling is kinda hurt for not getting an invite), not huge, but they are coming and going, doing the Irish jig as they are leaving. More ants are coming to this new renovated pub, compared to the old worn out one that I just threw away prior. The other bait, not too many ants. Blah...

Thank you Thank you Thank you
Like a number of other reviewers I had tried a number of other products before I got to this one. We live in a slab house and this summer we were SERIOUSLY invaded by ants. By seriously I mean you could put something on the counter, turn around to go to the refrigerator, and by the time you turned back they were coming out for whatever you put on the counter! No exaggeration. It was full out war. We had tried many products, including the stuff you put into your grass around the perimeter of the house, other brands of ant traps, sprays, borax, the stick things- all money down the drain. Now I think it made it worse, after reading the other reviews about what can happen using the sprays and such. I was at the point of contacting an exterminator though the expense would be a lot for us right now, and I prefer to have long term solutions I can do on my own- don't like to depend on services like that if at all possible. So, I went back to the internet one last time. Somehow I stumbled upon the reviews for this product. I have to admit I was still pretty skeptical but the other reviewers sold me on at least trying this product before going to the exterminator route. I ended up buying a full stockpile of the Terro products- a couple boxes of the outdoor baits, the outdoor liquid square things, and a number of boxes of the indoor - prefilled baits. We have used less than one round of what I have purchased, and the ants are ALL BUT GONE. Unbelievable!! Based on other reviews, we cut off use of all other products for a few days and then put the Terro baits indoor and outdoor. We also did not move or clean away the baits, even though it was really gross with dead ants literally all over the baits and around the baits on the floor. We put out 4 of the indoor baits, mostly in the kitchen areas, and one box each of the outdoor baits. I would suggest that combo if you do have the extensive problem we had, because the ants swarmed to the baits, and the baits got over flowing with dead ants. Still our combo knocked them out in less than 3 weeks. I am incredibly pleased because the cost of all this was less than $50 and I still have a full second round to use. We are still getting a random ant here and there, which are very small in size. My partner is convinced they are "sending out the baby ants" because there are so few left to send LOL... I don't know about that but I do know I can make toast on the counter without ruining a full container of butter! Also, I have both cats and a dog, and other than putting them behind or under some of my low kitchen furniture, I had no issue with them being around the animals. They had no interest in them.

Great product
I moved to a new house a year ago and I had a problem with ants coming into the house especially when it rains. I tried Terro ant bait to mitigate the problem and I haven't seen an ant in the house since. I am very satisfied with the product so far. I use maybe 10-12 of these at a time. I sprinkle them around the house where I used to see the ant trails. Pros: - I observed how the ants in my yard (which used to come into the house) react to the bait and they love it. It does work, once an ant trail has found the bait, they feed on it like there is no tomorrow and the trail slowly vanishes, sometimes in a day or two, sometimes in a week maybe. It is a good way to control ants since I do not want to spray every week. I just leave the baits out and replace every few months as necessary. - The package design can handle heavy traffic for big trails which is sometimes necessary. - The amount of bait in each station can feed ants over long periods of time and not run out. I end up having to replace them for other reasons. Cons: - Since the bait is contained in small areas, sometimes the ants don't find the bait. I have to check the yard every now and then to make sure no ants trail are coming into the yard but are failing to find the bait. So I would move one of the bait station right next to the trail and that would usually work. - Another issue is sometimes the ants don't find the bait even if it is only an inch away from the trail. My fix to this problem is letting the package drop a couple of bait drops on the floor and then smearing it a little on their trail. They start feeding on they bait as soon as they run into it which also helps them find the main bait station. - The bait container (the white part on top) is not very resilient to sun damage. If you put it in a place where the sun hits it most of the day the plastic will start to crack. I am able to extend the life of the station quite significantly when I hide it under a bush for example, but that is not always possible. - Sometimes rainwater will get through, and when it does, the liquid bait becomes solid. I tried leaving those solid baits out for sometime but I haven't seen ants attempt to eat from it. I just replace the station when that happens now. All in all I like this product and I keep buying it to keep the stations replenished. It keeps ants in the yard under control. I see a very significant reduction in the amount of ant running around the yard. I also no longer find any ants inside the house.

Took Care of BAD Outdoor Infestation
Near the start of the year I got a wall replaced in my backyard (a pool perimeter concrete wall), and that must have kicked up some sort of ant colony, because they just kept coming. I didn't pay them much mind, since it's outside and I do expect nature to do its thing, but once summer came around and the days started being regularly over 100 degrees, these ants picked up their activity big time, and along with it a smaller type of ant seemed to move into my yard as well. I have indoor/outdoor cats, and I do leave food and water outside for them. I'd never had much issue with the ants taking over the cat food until this summer (again I think because of the wall replacement), but it got bad. Very bad. To the point where my cats would come crying and I would check their food only to see it positively swarming with ants, and nothing to be done about it. I tried a few cheaper bait traps to no avail, the ants literally just walked on top of them and continued on their merry way. I placed out three Terro traps where I knew the ants made their lines, and within four or five days every single ant was gone. All of them. The big ones, the little ones, every ant I ever saw in my backyard was gone. I cannot recommend these enough, they work wonderfully. The instructions say it may take up to two weeks, and I've left mine out just in case any stray ants get ideas about moving in, but I swear I haven't seen any more of them, day or night. Unlike some other users I had no trouble pushing the caps down and twisting them. The trick is to push down on the sides where the lip of the container is, and then pull back up a little to twist it. Like others I did spill a little of the bait out just to be sure the ants would get interested, but I don't really think that was necessary. As long as you put it where their lines are heading, they'll find it. Also, just to note, my cats didn't care about the traps at all, and there's really no way for them to get into them. Not that they would, I don't imagine the bait is very appetizing for cats (or dogs). One of them sniffed the top part and seemed wholly disinterested before moving on, so I was never concerned about the bait hurting my pets.

The perfect poison!
These convenient plastic stations and foil sealed trays of poison (borax and sugar) are truly the only way to go if you're battling an ant infestation! We seem to get ants in the house every year around the springtime (some years worse than others) and, after reading reviews of various products, it seemed clear that the best choice would be the Terro brand of products. My experience in putting them to use further solidified this theory into a fact. Each and every time we are facing a swarm of ants taking over, the simple act of putting one of these stations out eradicates the problem quickly. Usually one station placed where the ants are noticed have done the job without needing to replace with a fresh one until the following year around the same time. Note: while these particular stations are marketed as "outdoor stations," I use them inside as I did not have as much luck with placing them outside (the ants still came in, for whatever reason-could have been poor placement on my part or possible freezing of the "goo" overnight while the temps were still unstable during the early Spring season in PA). Still, I had only ever intended for these to be used inside as I felt the size and amount of product in these stations to be more cost effective at the time of purchase versus the smaller "indoor stations" sold by Terro. Lastly, I want to warn you that these traps will definitely TEMPORARILY bring in more ants (see photos) as the "word" gets out of this "delectable treat" (sweet, sweet poison!), which can be a little unsettling to the eye (and mind) 🙈🫣, but rest assured that this increased amount will not last for long and is exactly what you want to see, as it ensures that the entirety of this ant colony will be wiped out! You may struggle with the knowledge of the horrible genocide you are bestowing upon these creatures (I know I did! 😔), but when no amount of peppermint or "natural" products do anything to remedy the situation and you're at your wit's end with the infestation, this is the choice you have to make and live with. I never claimed to be a Saint, I guess. 😣🤔🤷👹

Got rid of a large colony infesting my house and yard in a matter of weeks
Since moving into this house 4 years ago, every summer I find a seeming endless precession of Carpenter ants going between one corner of the yard and into the house through any crack they can find. I presume the main nest is outside, with a satellite colony in the walls of our house (but it could be the other way around). Disgusting and a bit scary to know there are so many ants living inside the walls. I put one trap on the ground near the nest, one near their trail, and one on the window sill near last years main entry point. To begin with, the ants avoided every trap, and seemed to dislike walking on the slippery plastic ramps that lead up to the ‘honey pot’. I smeared some of the liquid on the ramps and surrounding areas, which the ants seemed to take interest in, but overall activity in the main parts of the traps was still minimal for a couple of weeks. I then went away and forgot about them for a couple more weeks, and when I came back, it took a while to dawn on me that there were no longer any ants patrolling our perimeter. I thought it must be due to cold weather, but out of interest went to look in the 3 traps. To my astonishment, they were all filled with the sticky remains of thousands of dead ants, and as a few more weeks went by there was not a single ant to be seen. So I’m delighted to say that, despite my initial skepticism, after a couple of months an entire army of small 6-legged terrorists seems to have been totally annihilated, and I can rest easy in the knowledge that they are no longer making their nest (and chewing up the structure) inside the 4 walls that I call my home. Moral of the story? Be patient, and the ants will come to their deadly feast when they are good and ready. UPDATE: 2 years later and still not a single ant found in the house. The colony inside the walls was completely annihilated. Meanwhile, my neighbours are complaining about ants while using other pest control products. Don’t waste your time, just get these.

Solid feeding station design, Borate concentration too high
We purchased these to control a massive argentine ant population we have surrounding the house we recently moved into (attempting to control before the rains set in and they come inside). Argentine ants are the little ones especially pervasive in california (they say it is one megacolony, ugh). Though ants began feeding immediately (in contrast to the protein based gel and solid stations which the ants ignored), several ants began to die in and around the stations, clogging the entrances - within 3-5 days, the stations were no longer active. Turns out this is a sign that the boric acid concentration is too high. Indeed, a bit of internet research shows that 5.4% is on the very highest end for ant baits that can kill the colony. The recommended range is 1-5%, with many sources suggesting 1-3%. This is especially important for outdoor stations since the solution begins to evaporate, increasing the boric acid concentration. As a result, I have started to clean out these stations and replace the solution with a lower concentration water, sugar and boric acid (20 mules borax for laundry) solution of closer to 2%. We'll see if this is effective, as these little ants are totally out of control. In then, I'm ok with this purchase because I can reuse them, though I wish the reservoir were larger Pluses: + inexpensive + Good design, potential for reuse + sugar based which works on ants all year around (protein based baits are most attractive in the spring and early summer) + the only liquid based traps on amazon for outdoor use + boric acid based - this is great because it's just a cleaning agent that biodegrades overtime, in contrast to other pesticides used for this sort of application. that said, you still don't want kids or pets eating it, so don't make it easily accessible. Minuses: + boric acid concentration too high + entrances easily clogged with dead ants (yuck) + small reservoir There are many sources for more info on ant baits and controlling these little buggers - search for ant baits, controlling argentine ants, do it yourself, uc davis, etc.

THIS STUFF WORKS
We just moved into a new house in March and then in April when we had a few warm days, we realized there was a major ant infestation. They were everywhere. They found every speck of food. I was disgusted. We’d pick up a napkin off the table that had been there maybe an hour and tiny ants would be pouring out. I set out the normal little traps all over the house and we tried to live with them and not kill them so they’d take the bait back to their queen/nest. Eventually the made their way to the cat food and the bowl was literally crawling with them. I couldn’t take it anymore and sprayed poison all over the house. That certainly helped but I knew we needed to take care of the actual problem, not just the ones that made it inside, or they would just keep coming. I took a look outside and noticed the landscaping near the house was crawling with them. I bought these baits and put them all over the outside of the house, right next to the foundation. I also watched to find trails of ants and placed some right in the middle of their trails. That afternoon and especially the next day you could see trails of ants leading to the bait stations. IT WAS AWESOME. DIE SUCKERS DIE! After a few days of that, I don’t see many ants anymore, and very rarely inside. I plan to repurchase throughout the summer and then will also get a head start next spring as well now that I know to expect it. These can be a little tricky to set up, just because you have to keep them level. I suggest setting them up on flat concrete, like the driveway, before carefully carrying them to their destination. You take the small cup (think like a sauce cup with foil lid from a fast food pizza restaurant) and flip it upside down onto the tray. You press down all the way, don’t be afraid to push it down. I was afraid the first couple I did because I wasn’t sure if I would ruin them. So, you push down all the way to pierce the foil lid, then turn the bait cup a little bit to rip some more of the foil inside. I then lifted the cup up just a bit to make sure the ants could get inside. The sticky sweet stuff will flow into the tray only. Unless you tilt them you won’t see any. I decided to tilt all of them a little on the ground (in their planned spots, not on the concrete) before re-leveling. I let some of the clear poison spill out to make sure the ants found it. I did get some on myself and just washed my hands and the other skin areas that touched it. I didn’t have any type of reaction or anything. Get these. You won’t be disappointed.

Reasonable product
Removed ants for a while, bit now they're back and containers empty, their indoor product is great but this didn't work well. But I am under invasion from big ants.

well, not like the other reviews
well, Ants doesn't like it, put on the path of ants and still many ants are passing. Used for 2 weeks. Looks the number of ants was reduced but only several dead ants.
