These 3 pads that I bought tear way too easily. The pad can be ripped pretty easily when tying knots in a vertical mattress stitch. The pad has ripped every single time I have attempted a subcuticular stitch. Hell, the pad has even torn in a few places from grabbing it with Debakey forceps (which are atraumatic forceps without teeth). The type of suture and the size of the needle and suture have not made a difference (it rips regardless of whether I am using #1 PDS, 2-0 Vicryl, 4-0 Monocryl, and even 6-0 Prolene). I found a different brand of pad to practice on, and have had none of the problems listed above. These pads may be adequate for practicing basic stitches, but if you plan on attempting more than just the very basics, you will probably want to invest in a higher quality practice pad. ### ⭐ Do not buy. On my first attempt with 5-0, it tore through the silicone. I attempted with 2-0 to try thicker, still tore. The gaps in the practice are too far apart and the silicone is not strong enough to withstand appropriate approximation with practice. ### ⭐ terrible for practicing suturing *by G***C on Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2022* I bought this product because it looked promising. I am a third year med student an aspiring surgeon. I have used other suturing pads and this by far is the worst one I have used. I thought originally that because there are so many cuts on the pad that it would be beneficial because you theoretically could do more suturing, but because of the quality of the pad the suturing one site ends up destroying the other potential suture sites. Definitely do not recommend. It is not durable like it says.
