This unit does not come with a standard 110V plug why?

No it does not. It has a 20 amp 110v blade plug which has a T blade connector. That means one of the flat connectors is sideways. You can buy, which is what I elected to do, a adapter plug on Amazon vs changing your wall outlet.

Will this work with a dtainless steel pan?

Stainless steel, Carbon steel, and cast iron are commonly induction compatible.

I only had that for a while, I returned it and bought this one which I like better. I cant remember why I returned it.
