A Cozy Self‑Care Spot for Cats
It’s essentially a little “spa station” for cats, and if your crew enjoys rubbing, grooming, or lounging against textured surfaces, this one earns its keep. It’s one of those toys that doesn’t cause an instant frenzy, but once the cats realize what it’s for, they start incorporating it into their daily routine. It’s especially nice for older cats or mellow loungers who appreciate a good face massage. Younger or more energetic cats may use it in short bursts, but the ones who love tactile stimulation will absolutely claim it as “their spot.”

Product High Paws - packing huge fail
I've always found Catit to be a quality, sturdy product and my cats have yet to break or pull apart any item I have gotten for them. This is quite large (check the measurements), but then it has to be so a cat can enjoy it. The green pad/pillow has hook and loop type circles on the bottom so it can stay in place. The plastic is BPA free. The hard green top seems to be a big hit with both cats. I've filled it with the catnip that came taped in the box. The only "con" is that if placed on a non-carpeted floor it will slide around. I put mine on an old yoga mat, a simple fix, took away one star because of that. All my floors are hardwood. Packing: Received this today and I'm surprised at the horrible packing that Amazon did, of course, this is just about par for them now. Not like the good old days when items where placed in sturdy shipping boxes. This box was clearly not meant for shipping. I'm glad that all the pieces where there, but honestly the entire side was open with item slipping out.

Sturdy, yet my cats like the box better.
I bought this for one of our rescue cats (see picture #2) who loves to rub his cheek against the hinge-corner of my glasses. (Adorable, but watch the eye!) The 2.0 came right on time and was safely packaged. One thing to note: it’s big. It will take up a significant amount of floor space in a 10 x 10 room. I’ve attached a photo with a normal-sized candy cane next to it for comparison. My cats are in the 14 lb. range, though, and the one who tried it took up the whole pad, and more. (Not the cat I bought it for, of course.) The pros: Well-built and well-designed. It’s has a lighter weight firm plastic base that is sturdy and I believe it will last. The pad came with four hook-and-loop 1” circles attached and I peeled off the paper backing and they stuck to the base without issue. The pad itself has a crinkle-type nylon covering: I wasn’t as thrilled with that, but I suspect that it’s the longest-lasting material for its use. The darker grey longer “bristles” are also firm and durable. The green snap-on top was what I was hoping my cat would use, again, it’s durable. I suspect the reason why they sell replacements of it has more to do with a human damage. The cons: Even with cat-nip, none of the cats use it. I “introduced” it to my most adventurous cat and he just didn’t get it. He couldn’t get to the nip and although he loves a good head-scratch, he had zero interest. Obviously, this is not the product’s fault, but since it’s $25, I was disappointed—-in my cats! I will edit this if anything changes. The surprise: The original packaging box is decorated with koi and underwater plant life and reads that it is a “treat maze.” There are 3 circles to cut out, two of which are smaller than my cats’ heads. I used a box cutter to knock them out. The cats LOVE it. Toss in a few treats and all three of them focus on it for 20+ minutes. After a few days, I had to reinforce the sides (weight of cats) and the holes have “mysteriously” widened. Still, it was great that the company did that. It can still be recycled and even when the treats are gone, the cats can’t quite tell that and they still actively look, paw, peer, adjust, etc. I thought it was a nice touch by the company.

My cats like it
My cats like it even though they don't know how to use other parts; brush, massager yet. They like resting on the cushion. Oh! She just laid her head on the brush for the 1st time. The reason I give 3star is because of rubber at bottom. the rubber on the bottom did not stay on. It just falls off whenever I lift it to clean the floor. It was a red alert to me because my cat had emergency surgery due to elastic cord, and it didn't seem safe to leave this toy with loose rubber while I am away. So I threw away the rubber. I don't know why they didn't glue it down.

Not what you're expecting
For the price, I expected this item to be ready-to-use out of the box. Not in terms of assembly, but in that I now am going to have to find a small, plush mat to put under it to keep it stable. The bottom is hollow and not flat/level/flush with the ground. I suppose if you had a medium or high pile carpet it would be a non-issue, but on a hard floor, this thing turns into a loud teeter-totter. The cats obviously want to interact with it, but every time they set foot on it, it rocks, makes a loud noise where it hits the floor, and they get spooked and run off. There's one little rubber-ring - I guess to protect floors or prevent skidding? - under the "bed" portion, but the rest is all warped and made of surprisingly thin but inflexible plastic. I expected the tooth cleaning area to be made of something softer than the hard plastic comprising the rest of this thing, but it isn't. If they were to include a rubber base for this, I would probably change my rating to 3 or 4 stars, but as is, I very much regret this purchase.

Miraculously, the cat LOVES it!
My cat LOVES it! This is a minor miracle. She plays with balls for one minute tops. She's afraid of feathers on strings. She chases the laser pointer for 3 minutes, half-heartedly. But, I sprinkled some catnip on this and within 15 seconds, she was rubbing on it and purring. She stayed at it for 15 minutes and when she had petted herself enough, she laid down beside it. Like a lot of cats she usually likes the box better than the toy. It's always a bit of a chance with cats, yes? She's an only and older cat (15) who is in good health, but has started sleeping longer. I wanted to enrich her environment, but she doesn't take to many things. I'm very happy that this perked her up. The product is well-designed, well-made and well-packaged. It was obviously designed by people who studied cat behaviors. I'm referring to the angles of the surfaces meant for the cat to rub against. Easy to wash. Minor assembly. I would absolutely buy other products from this company. EDIT: Be careful pulling the velcro dots on the cushion off of the sticky tabs. The fabric tore (without much force). I had to hand sew it back on.

Waste of money, useless
Bought this as a gift for my senior cat. She played with it once and hasn’t approached it since. The little mat is crap, and you are only provided a small container of catnip. I don’t recommend. It seems like a useless piece of plastic.

This thing is a wonderful mystery!
I never leave reviews, but my wonderment of my cat's love for this seemingly basic piece of plastic is truly remarkable. I sprinkled catnip on this when I first bought it, and I thought, "this doesn't seem like anything special, but what the hell?" My cat ignored it for a long time and I kind of dismissed the idea of the mat having anything of particular interest. Forgot about the piece of "basic plastic," then one day, my cat decided it was the only place for him. Now, a few months later, it remains my cat's favorite perch (albeit a very short one- it is a mat, so it's like a centimeter high). My cat definitely loves this. Low hopes, highly satisfied, and mystified that this simple piece of plastic works.
