Should I use filters with this gun when using automotive paint or primer?

how does this sprayer work with latex paints?

Latex paints from a box store (i.e. Sherwin Williams, Behr, etc.) are too thick to spray through this type of gun with 1.8mm tip.

Would you suggest this gun or a fuji semi-pro? what has a better spray?

I'm not a pro by any means but I love me spray gun. Replacement parts and different size tips seem to be readily available and it lays down paint smooth. Its everything I expected for the price.
