This is the scale to have especially if you have a Renpho weight scale, food tracking app and the scale all combined make tracking food and weight/body composition so easy and actually fun! The scale integrates into the food tracking app and allows you to control the scale via your phone. No need to tare or press the unit button multiple times to scroll thru the options you just press tare or what unit of measurement you want right on the phone. The food tracking app calculates the nutritional food info automatically adjusting to portion size no matter what size you originally entered. It's so easy and hassle free I really enjoy being able to use the phone to control the scale. Don't have to move the plate to see the display or to press the scale buttons at all. A great scale at a very reasonable price. Scale is extremely light weight and has a nice stainless (I think) surface you can easily wipe off; fits in almost any small space for convenient storage. Scale convenience and food app are well thought out and integration is seamless. I tried the Nicewell scale and the weight measurement number constantly moved up or down when food was not even being added or taken off which was very frustrating but this scale is steady and accurate. Another great product from Renpho. Also, their customer support is EXCELLENT if you have any issues with the app or scale.

My wife and I have been on a healthy eating program since January, 2020 (down 50+ pounds to date!) and portion control is critical to the program. We had been using a spring scale, but I question its accuracy and it was kind of a pain to use, because it had a little tray that sat on top, you adjusted the spring to account for the weight of the tray, but I often couldn't fit everything in the tray, and you had to wash it after using and dry off before the next weigh, which was a hassle. No such problems here -- if what you're weighing can sit on a flat surface, just turn the scale on, pop your item on, and a quick wipe takes care of things. If it's something that won't sit on a flat surface, just put your bowl, plate or measuring cup on the scale, press the "T" button, and a second later, the scale zeros out the weight of the container, and you can remove it, fill it up with the stuff you want to weigh and put it back on the scale (there is a time limit on this process, though, so make sure that whatever you want to weigh is ready to go when you press the Tare button.) It's a nice looking unit, it blends in with stainless steel appliances and is very thin, so it will go into a drawer easily if you don't want it on the counter (we leave it on the counter because it takes up less space than our old scale did.) If I'm going to ding the product for one thing (and one star, I'll update the rating if it gets resolved in the future,) it's for the iOS software that you use to connect to the scale and track foods that you're weighing. For basics, like you're weighing a cooked chicken breast, it's straightforward and handy; for anything else, like a meal replacement bar or a bowl of soup, if the name brand product isn't in their database (and none of the foods from our healthy eating plan were,) you have to add them yourself, and the process to do so is somewhat arduous. In the screenshot, you can see the entry screen for the 30 or so nutrient components, and for each one, you have to delicately tap on the zero that the app puts into the value field -- if you tap on the left side of the zero, it will add a zero to whatever number to put in, so you have to tap on the right side of the zero (unless your value ends in zero, of course,) which is not easy to do. Again, this is only a problem if you have to enter custom foods, but in my case, since everything is custom, after setting up about eight, I gave up and switched to "MyFitnessPal" for tracking my food -- I have to custom enter the stuff that I weigh on the scale, but that's easy to do. I'm surprised that the software isn't very good, because I have their Renpho bathroom scale, and the software for that is excellent. Hopefully, they will have an update for the food scale. Overall, a great scale, and if you can get by on the database that the iPhone app includes, it's a perfect food tracking solution.

The scale itself probably shouldn't be the main reason you're buying this. The scale plus the Bluetooth connected mobile application that comes with it is the reason. It's amazing to have your food weight instantly update in real-time on your smartphone display on the app. This is especially useful if you have a large mixing bowl on the scale which blocks you from reading the display. This is just the beginning, however. Tell the mobile app that you're going to weigh out some strawberries, add said strawberries to the scale, and watch as the mobile app provides all the macro-nutrient information for the weight of the strawberries present. You can then add this entry to your "plate" and weigh out all of your other foods until your "plate" is complete. Talk about insanely easy nutrient counting. The only thing better would be someone to do it all for you! It tracks more than just Fats, Proteins, and Carbs. Vitamins and minerals of all shapes and sizes are added to your diet diary within the app as you add foods, weigh them, and add them to your plate. Watching your potassium intake? It's already calculated based on the weight of all the food items on your virtual plate. I've been on the Keto diet for over a year and being able to effortlessly measure my food portions so I stay within my fat, protein, and carb limits is invaluable. I lost 40lbs but was stuck and couldn't lose anymore. Once I started weighing my food with this, I started losing weight again. So, any downsides? Not many so far. One thing I will note is that the smartphone app isn't dedicated to just this scale. Many different devices connect to the app and it looks like there are a bunch of automation functions. I don't know if this applies to the scale as I haven't played around with it. Anytime you launch the app you have to tap on an icon of your food scale. I think the premise is that eventually, you'll have a list of products that connect to the app. For now, it's just annoying to open the app, tap your scale, and then begin vs just opening the app and beginning. Not a huge problem at all, though. If you need to measure out your food, it's a great scale. If you need to measure your food and track macronutrients, it's an amazing scale.

Excellent choice, decent price, and easy to operate. It connects to your weight loss app if you're serious about measuring your food. It has several types of weight measurements to choose from.

I have multiple RENPHO products and they are all great except this one. The data base is to small and 80% of the things I scan come up as no data available scan again. If they improve the app it will be better. But until then its 3 stars

Bought this for my husband because he's been paying more attention to his nutrition/fitness. He uses this a lot when preparing snacks and other meals although I do cook more than he does. He really enjoys incorporating technology into daily life and this is a simple way he can do that. He's able to keep track of how much he is eating. It works well with his phone. It is thin and light. Easy to use. We've had it for a few months now and haven't had any issues with it so far and I'm hoping it lasts for quite awhile because the last scale we bought from another brand did not work well after a short period of time.

I'm a fan of the brand Renpho. Their products are simply great. I've been using the smart body scale for over 3 years. So I didn't think twice when I thought of getting a food scale. This device is sturdy, well built with high-grade stainless steel but is also light-weight and handly compared to the glass alternates. It uses 3AAA batteries which comes pre-installed and will probably last months. The buttons are easy-touch and not push buttons. You can measure in oz / lb:oz/ g / ml / fl.oz. The scale is absolutely accurate, I tested with some water volume and standard weight items like my iPhone. The device can measure up to 11 lb / 5kgs. The app is also great and connects seamlessly with the scale. The app can log your food weight and convert to the nutritional value which you can compare with your daily bodyweight chart in the other Renpho app. (They should merge both the apps.) The scale in combination with the app will help you stick to a precise diet and cut on those underestimated calories in a portion to get better fitness results. The price point is low compared to the market and with my experience with Renpho smart body scale, I can say these products are built to last.

Amazing Product with nice features. It allows you to switch though various measuring modes easily and setup with phone is very easy. The app enhances the user experience and allows you to track your daily consumptions with ease. You can use it to brew your coffee to track your caloric intake or you can just use it to measure your portions. Overall great product at a great value.

Works well and is well manufactured

Pros and cons as well as an overall rating at the bottom This is a nice looking and very good size food scale. it's about 6.3 x 9 x 0.79 inch or 16 x 23 x 2 cm which is very decent for a food scale. Due to it's size the scale can be stored easily and it is made of very easy to clean stainless steal. The app works seamlessly and is very responsive with the scale, you get the info almost instantly on your phone. You can scan the bar code or enter the items manually with the information which does not take as much time as i would have taught since the app has the general order of info as the back label of the items. within the app you can create your meal plan, add your own recipes to make it easier the next time you weight the food instead of constantly entering the ingredients one by one, see your detailed nutrition intake separated between breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. You can check your calories intake in each respective eating time. It is easy to set your goal and if you have a Renpho smart scale the app will suggest your calories intake depending on how fast you want to loose or gain weight. Both the scale and food scale work together in the same app which make things a whole lot easier. This app can also be linked to myfitness Pal app how ever at the time there is only your weight and not the food you consume that transfers between the app. You can also sync the Renpho app to your google fit to have more accurate interactions with the app about the intakes. TIP: when making a recipes what i like to to is to but a bowl on the scale and then press the Tare button then i add my first ingredient save it and then hit tare again so the next item i put in there will be scaled from 0 and so on and so forth instead of weighing each items individually. well constructed app and intuitive. Pros: syncs with myfitness pal syncs with google fit lite looks really good easy to store intuitive app easy to clean a lot of nutrition facts Cons: the barcode database is incomplete, 99.9% of the barcodes can be scanned in myfitness Pal how ever i would says that only 30-35% of the same items can be scanned trough the Renpho app. so it is a good thing that you can easily add the item info manualy. overall rating A Hope this was helpful
