Update this true story soon. More to come....
Excellent documentary. I feel for the Mom and kids. Condolences. Who benefits isn't just a question after a cowardly murder like this; it's the motive. Both the German man whore and the closet whore husband had the most to gain. With a divorce looming and no way to support his boy toys high life, and then everything folding like his cheap excuses; this documentary is like a reality show of what not to do with your life. I have no doubt myself who is the murderer and who is the accessory, a capitol crime btw. I wouldn't call either one of these low brows lucky, but I would like to see Karma and her sisters Consequence, Shame, Justice and Despair when they join up with these reprobates....

Not one single seemingly credible person was interviewed
Somewhat of an amateurish production leads me to believe that there was an agenda here and not an earnest exploration for the truth. Dean Olds was presented in the best light, so draw from that conclusion what you will. If he did murder his wife, he has to be the biggest idiot to ever go through a divorce, because of course the guilt would be directed at the husband under those circumstances. There was one piece of info that, if true, was very telling: the idea that Olds' wife's attorney would subpoena the tax returns of his law firm's partners. That was clearly intended to wreck Dean's career, in which she succeeded handily. It would not surprise me if a third party killed Mrs. Olds over something completely unrelated to her marriage.

Trial by Media at its Finest
What I took from this film is that the police used the media, and the court of public opinion, to GET a man when they could not come up with enough evidence to get him themselves. And the man's own children joined in to kick him while he was down. The media relentlessly hounded this man. I was apalled at the actions of the press in this case. I would hope they would be ashamed, but know that the media has no shame. His children should be ashamed of themselves for the level of greed and vindictiveness on display as well. Innocent until proven guilty? Not in the eyes of the press.

Creepy, interesting, unsolved mystery
This is basically an unsolved mystery. As far as I know, this is the only documentary on this subject anywhere. This is a sad story all around with many victims. I remember when the story went down, so it brought back memories of the bizarre details around this case. The standard definition may seem dated, but it also makes the story more haunting.BC

But he's treated like he's guilty
Uhm..... So. Dean has a boyfriend in Germany(Dean is a closet gay) he sends money to. Boyfriend is accused of bludgeoning the divorcing wife who wants t take all Dean has. Dean never is a suspect. Boyfriend is cleared--goes back to Germany--Dean's kids sue him for all he has. Dean thinks boyfriend did it but can't prove it. He isis abandoned by his children and completely broke, and he never EVER WAS convicted of his wife's murder, nor was he a serious suspect. But he's treated like he's guilty. It's an intriguing story.

Heartless, is what I see
One day this will be solved, as all murders are. But, my problem is with Dean Olds kids. Their father is NOT a convicted killer and they have treated him like one. He is old and hasn't got much time left so why hurt him so. They are heartless kids out only for the money they can get. He has no money to pay them so chalk it up kids!!!Remember one day we all will stand in front of the Greatest Judge ever you don't want to stand in front of Him without having forgiven or at best opened up to your father. Greed is UGLY

Badly done advertisement for an accused murderer.
This wasn't a documentary. Even poor documentaries make up evidence to support their claims. Just because Olds wasn't prosecuted doesn't mean he wasn't guilty. How many cases don't even go to court because of "lack of evidence." Does that mean that there's no guilty party or that no crimes been committed? No! Some people are able, whether they want to or not, to tell if someone is guilty. That's obviously not going to hold water with the legal system, but it's going to affect personal relationships. Who knows what their children went through with an alcoholic, gay father, who lived many lies. I'm far from perfect and I admit my sins, but that doesn't mean I want to have a relationship beyond impersonal aquaintance, with a liar. Victims of abuse can forgive their abuser, but it's unwise to put yourself in a vulnerable situation with the abuser once again. Many, as children have o choice.
