My 9 month old son has refused sippy cups of all kinds even ones with straws. I even tried replacing the spill-free straw from a munchkin cup with a silicone one thinking the ease of suction would encourage him. *spoiler alert* it did not. We were getting water in him in very small amounts with an open cup, but then one day he decided he didn't any bottles anymore either. The open cup is a great skill for him to learn and practice with but he's not developmentally ready to be getting his whole day of fluids from it. The Juice Bear was recommended to me after my husband and I spent many frustrated meals trying to convince the baby to take "one more sip". The difference with the Juice Bear is night and day. He learned to use it after ONE meal. I started the first time using watered down juice to encourage him and focused on putting the straw near the tip of his tongue. Now he is drinking water like a champ with no more frustration. Hopefully this will help with his constipation problems! As an fyi, the plastic is very thin, and so it might not be suitable for the dishwasher (we don't have one so I can't say for sure). I thought with the bear shape it would be harder to clean than it is. It is on the pricier end of sippy cups, especially when it so clearly looks like someone just sent an old honey container with some aquarium tubing, but for the headaches it has saved us it is worth every penny. It is sent with 3 straws, and the straws clean easily with a pipe cleaner. It was a bit difficult to insert the straw at first, but the tight fit means he can drag it around by the straw portion with no chance of it slipping out of the cup, and zero leaks (unless you shake it vigorously (because the straws are not anti-spill). All in all I would recommend, and would even suggest risking the 3-pack because each cup ends up being a bit cheaper in the long run.

My two year old is already using open cups, but had never drank from a straw before. We needed a portable drinking option and have started phasing out the use of the 360-style cups. This Honey Bear cup was just what we needed! The technique of trapping liquid in the straw with your finger before releasing it into the child's mouth worked very quickly for us and once he figured out how to wrap his mouth around the straw and suction liquid out, it was a seamless transition from there! The appealing bear design made the process even easier and the size of the cup is great for small hands. While it has been a great learning/transitioning tool, I'll need to find a cup that isn't squeezable--as it's become more of a fun, messy feature for us. Also, my LO likes to pull the straw completely out or push it all the way into the cup, so he can close the lid. If using for a small child, just be mindful that there's nothing limiting the straw movement with this cup. I do like that it is a soft straw that fits snuggly into the cap. Even turned on its side, water doesn't come out unless the cup is squeezed or if the top isn't secure. Overall, I'm glad I ordered one single bear vs one of the multipacks since we were using it primarily as a learning tool. I really appreciate the cleaning tools it comes with and we did receive three total straws.

This is a great cup to add to the arsenal. I like having a large variety of different cups so my son gets used to drinking from many different things. I didn’t even know these honey bear bottle cups existed. They are 1,000% direct knock offs of the honey company’s bears. Someone here said you could easily use one of those and they are right but they are smaller and it take about three years to get through one of those so I’m pretty sure buying one of these is the better route. But Speaking of buying, this ONE cup for over $8 is too much. There are many many listings w three or four in a pack for only 16$. Since the reviews are 95% positive I would tell you to just risk it and get the multipacks for a little more money. I was unsure of committing to the multipack but now I wish I’d just gotten more of them bc the price doesn’t make any sense to order just this one. I find very little leakage happens at any point. He flings this thing around, shakes it, throws it, etc. sometimes stuff dribbles out of the straw, especially when he flicks the straw and stares us dead in the eye lol the straw is so insanely tightly in there is no way fluid can leak. As for cleaning I do not dishwash this. I wash it by hand. The plastic does not in anywya look like it could handle the heat of our dishwasher. It’s not worth risking it getting ruined when it takes two seconds to wash by hand. I really like these and will totally order more.

I bought this when my baby was just starting to learn to drink from a straw cup. She was strictly breastfed- wouldn't take a bottle. She could not figure out how to use a regular straw cup, and my friend recommended that I try one of these. I really like how you can squeeze it to get the water to go up the straw. My baby figured out how to use it pretty quickly! I will say the water does come up super fast, so my babe would accidentally drink too much and then have a coughing fit. The straw also pulls out of the cup so easily, so my baby would just yank it right out. It's also not leak-proof at all. If it's on its side or falls, whatever is inside is going everywhere. the cap part broke off after a few weeks of use. I did appreciate the multiple cleaning tools it came with which helped clean the cup's odd shape. Overall I would recommend it if your baby is struggling to figure out a straw cup! I would not use it as a long-term option.

My unsolicited parenting advice to all my friends now is to start your kid with a straw and to not do the sippy cup first because my 18 month old struggled for MONTHS to learn how to use a straw and i just could not figure out how to teach her - especially since she was older and would get super frustrated and then just start refusing all together. I have no idea what this cup is blessed with before shipping but she figured out how to use the straw in under 3 minutes. Took the sippy cup away and she doesn’t even miss it, she didnt even get frustrated! You only have to squeeze a little to get the liquid up the straw and it really does not leak! Fingers crossed though that my kid doesnt figure out to squeeze and hold it upside down for a while though lol. This should be more popular than it is. I’m recommending it to all my mom friends. Why don’t pediatricians tell new parents about this product lol? EDIT: I started to use this as my toddlers main cup but after about a week i stopped. My only complaint is that the straw can come out easily with toddler strength. So she started taking the straw out then turning the cup upside down so all the liquid would leak out lol. However I’d still rate it 5 stars since my daughter can easily use a straw now all because of this cup. Wish I had found it sooner!

I've tried so many straw cups but my son couldn't learn from it. Found this one and my son was able to learn it within two days! I was so impressed! The cap can be easily broken which is what happened to us. I contacted the company's customer service and they are able to send a replacement. So happy with my communications with them. The one thing I wished was for the cap to be able to cover the straw too so that I don't have to carry a Ziploc bag with me or bend the straw.

Bear did not hold up well.. definitely leak proof while we had it. Love the straw as well were able to use it for other bottles and cups. Overall I was satisfied for the first 2-3 weeks, just not durable enough

Bought this for my 9 month old to teach them how to use a straw. Works great, he ended up learning using this in about a week. I'd recommend washing twice before using, there's a bit of a smell to the cup straight out of the package but it goes away. Eyes, nose and mouth wash off after about a dozen washes. Easy to clean with a bottle brush and a straw brush. Just make sure you get a straw brush for thin straws. Straw is very soft and flexible, I just wish that it actually fit through the hole in the cap better. If the straw accidentally goes all the way through the cap, you have to take the whole straw out and put it through the top again as the hole seems to be smaller through the bottom and the straw won't fit back up through. There are no valves in the straw so it doesn't require much suction to get liquid and if you squeeze the bottle, the liquid will go up through the straw for easier drinking.

My 6 months old baby caught on using this cup in 3 days. I put small amounts of water at first and she loved it. The cup is cheaply made and very overpriced for what you get but it works! Simply let baby put the straw in there mouth and you squeeze the bottle to let liquid flow. I couldn’t believe my baby learned how to suck through the straw in a few days. She loves it!

El mejor caso entrenador para aprender a usar popote. No tienen que succionar demasiadísimo para que salga el agua. Aprenden rápido. Es fácil de agarrar con sus manitas y fácil de lavar. He intentado dos vasos distintos de la marca Munchkin y terminó regresando al osito entrenador. No sé si porque mi bebé no fue breastfed le cuesta más trabajo succionar con los vasos Munchkin, pero el osito entrenador es maravilloso. My baby learned to drink from a straw using this cup. Really great that you can squeeze it so the water comes out. Shows them the water comes out from there and eventually he started using the straw himself.
