Review: handy fill lights - I use these lights to make videos at my desk and to take product photos, where the room lighting is not balanced. They are good fill lights to remove shadows and balance lighting for this type of close-up use. I wouldn't count on one or two of them to light up a stage or room. I generally have them set within 3 feet of the subject, as long as I can keep them out of the shot and avoid glare spots. If I'm recording myself, I have to arrange them off to the side because they are too bright to be in front of me. I couldn't look at the camera if they were positioned directly in front as you would a ring light. I liked the quality, versatility, & price compared with other options. By quality, I mean the tripods, connections, and lights all feel solid to me like they will hold up through lots of repositioning. The brightness is adjustable but I've only used the highest setting. The diffusion lenses slide into tabs that hold them tightly against the front of the light. The lenses are thick and produce a definite color change (white, red, blue, orange are included for each light). I haven't had them long enough to know how well the LEDs will perform over time, but I've used them for a few hours and the initial quality it good. By versatility, I mean that they are very easy to use and position as fill lights. The brightness settings make a meaningful difference (though I wish they published a measurement like lumens so this statement was more data-driven). The tripods have 3 telescoping sections which can be set to any height from 19-48". There's an adaptor that attaches to the top of the tripod which allows you to swivel/tilt & secure the light at any angle. The tripod (and adaptor) use a standard screw connection so they work with any camera gear you might have. The kit also includes a mini tripod that's 1.5" tall so you can set it right on the desktop if you want. Each leg is about 3" long, so it's very stable on a flat surface. The only negative so far is with the power supply. These are USB-powered, and it has to be a USB port with at least 2.4 amps, not just a data port. Depending on your computer and where you want to use these lights, having enough open USB ports is something you should consider before buying. Also, the cord is 6.5 feet long but when the light is atop a 4' tripod it does put a bit of a limit on the setup radius from the computer. Once I got these set up, I found that there were still some shadows that I wanted to fill-in from other angles. I liked these lights so well that I purchased a second set without hesitation. I use these lights to make videos at my desk and to take product photos, where the room lighting is not balanced. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good way to get some basic lighting for your video work

This was an inexpensive way to get some basic lighting for doing video work in the house. In this case you get what you pay for, and for most people, these should be adequate. The lights are not the brightest, but are adequate for lighting up your Zoom calls. The light stands could be taller, but for working at a desk, they once again should be adequate. It's nice these plug into a 5 volt USB plug; you can also use battery packs if you want to take them mobile. They do have a brightness adjustment control to allow you to vary the light. The slip-in filters should be adequate to add some nice highlight color to your shots. Note the lights do not pivot up or down, they point straight ahead. You may want to consider getting two ball-mount adapters if you want these to point in a different direction. These are suitable for beginner use, or to use as fill lights. I have not doubt your will get creative with the use of these lights. Are there better ones out there? Sure, but you will also find that more features add to the cost.
