Billabong Men's Tides Straw Hat

This hat I purchased for my husband who is always outdoors.Fishing ..hiking swimming...concerts ..the color of this hat is amazing. Even though this is a straw hat it looks Rich! The colors blended in the weave ..so nice style!!

My Dad loved this hat!! Birthday gift for him and it covers a lot. Of the sun and shades very well. Size was great as well at the quality..

I test drove this hat along Venice and Santa Monica beaches last weekend. I'm not entirely sure how I've lived without it.First of all, this is a true straw hat, so you'll get to enjoy that straw smell like you did when you were young visiting your Uncle Bob's farm up in Irwin, Nebraska.Secondly, you'll notice the drawstring. I've never owned a straw hat before, so this was all new to me. I thought it was just for show, but it also functions as a reliable way to keep your Billabong Men's Tides Natural Straw Hat from flying off into the crowd.Third, is the straw weaving. This hat is made in China, and they know weaving. When laying in the sun, I maneuvered this hat above my face. The weaving was just light enough to allow a fresh ocean breeze to flow through whilst blocking 99% of the harmful UV rays.Lastly would be the style points of the front "Tides" patching. I'd like to think of it as a black and white abstract open to interpretation. I suppose it could be "Tides" as stated in the item description, but couldn't it also be rows of racially diverse sharks swimming in unison? Maybe it's a grey-scale embroidery of a wild fire that burnt down a neighboring field of straw.You'll be wearing a modernized art piece once you stop thinking about buying this hat and finally do it.Bonus points for being Amazon Prime.

Very disappointed. It took a while just to get the hat, and then they shipped it in a box that was smaller than the hat so the hat was crunched up in the box like a cowboy hat and has a crease. The straw weaving is weak, fragile so it sustained damage due to the terrible packaging. Seriously cannot believe they shoved this hat in a little box like that.

This hat breathes well, keeps the sun off me and has become a summer staple. I use the long strap to tighten the hats grip on my head when it's windy by putting the strap behind my head, putting the hat on, and then using the plastic piece to tighten the string behind my head and it is comfy and secure.

Too lightweight to make it ideal. Go for the more expensive version!
