This is an outstanding piece of gear.. what it does it does extremely well. 1. Acoustic guitar tone. TC have mimic'd the resonance of the body of an acoustic guitar in some way.. there are 5 basic acoustic "models" to start with, and each has quite some degree of flexibility in tone. bottom line is a MAJOR improvement in acoustic tone from a piezo based guitar. 2. Mic tone With doing nothing at all, there is an adaptive tone, de-esser and compressor added to your vocals. instant improvement. 3. transparent pitch correct based upon key detection from guitar (or aux) input.. Not saying you cannot sing, but having 50% level is transparent and very effective. 4. programmable harmonies based upon key & chord detection. 5. tuner and looper...15 sec with undo/redo thats kinda it... there are a bunch of presets that you can change store recall for song sepcific setups.. but not these are predominantly dor the vocal tone/harmony/effect.. you effectively have ONE acoustic guitar tone... but then again.. thats all most need This is a great deal, offers a lot, and finally you can play your acoustic amplified without cringing over the tone.

This unit lives up to the hype for a remarkably affordable price. I've been playing and performing for over 30 years. In recent years I've ventured into solo acoustic performance. I had been using my trusty Fractal Axe FX II ($3,000) which I love, but decided it was way too much functionality and complexity for my solo act. TC Helicon's unit does things that the Fractal could not. Just key sensing for harmonies alone is a huge win for playing solo. I highly recommend this unit for anyone that performs live or just wants to play around in their basement. It manages to pack lots of features into an easy to use unit. I'm looking forward to doing songs I wouldn't have dared try on the Fractal. I'm actually doing Seven Bridges Road with this thing and it sounds amazing. The Vocal effects are great and the Harmonizer is out of this world. My Taylor sounds great through it. My setup time has been cut in half.

I bought the play acoustic over a year ago. Really more out of curiosity. I’m not a professional performer by any measure but have been playing the guitar, both acoustic and electric for over two decades and have recently gotten interested with doing acoustic versions of songs purely as a hobby. I was looking for effects pedals specific for acoustic guitars. I’ve had my fair share of electric pedal boards having gone thru several boss and zoom multi-effects units. What I really enjoy about the play acoustic is its very intuitive user interface. Right out of the box, I found it quite easy to navigate thru the various menus for vocal, guitar, overall mix and specific genre sections. It also appears to be built quite tough. The metal chasis body and the almost automotive paint finish gives the unit a truly rugged but elegant look. The out of the box presets are quite enjoyable as well. I’ve yet to fully explore the presets but I’ve quickly identified vocal presets that are quick favorites. The guitar effects is basically chorus, delay (echo), reverb, and Body Rez (Compressor) and is more than sufficient to customize one’s guitar tone. Tuner and built in looper is present as well. Although from a looping perspective, I’m still reliant on my Boss RC 30 for any looping as the play acoustic has a somewhat limited max loop time. The power of the play acoustic is in its vocal harmonization capabilities and the possibilities is only limited by your imagination and the amount of time you’d spend fiddling with it. Definitely happy with the purchase and Tc Helicon that I purchased the switch 6 foot switch which adds some latitude to move around as the TRS cable allows you to position the foot switch at a distance from the main unit if needed.

I am a pro player and I had a TC Play GTX, which was an older similar model, and very good, but started acting up after 3 years and a couple hundred gigs. I didn't feel like messing with it and trying to fix it, it was well used so I just wanted to replace it, but it's no longer a current model. I assumed most of the features would be the same on the Play Acoustic once the firmware was updated, but you only have access to reverb and delay as far as effects go. I like to add a little boost and overdrive for rock solos, a little tremolo for ambient and surf music, etc., yes, on my acoustic guitar (I play a Godin Multiac nylon which has a thin body like an electric, doesn't feed back, so I have a lot of freedom to use effects) and this device doesn't allow that. It does have "body modeling" which I was excited to try, but does away with most other effect modules. This does make some nice acoustic tones, I suppose if I dug around enough I could have found a way to have a clean boost, but still just not enough versatility for what I do. If you don't upgrade the firmware you only have one global guitar tone, so changing patches only changes vocal effect/harmony. Almost the exact opposite of what I want, I only use one or 2 vocal effects with light harmony for choruses, but like to vary my guitar tone and volume more actively. Even with the firmware update it's far from what I was used to with the GTX. I used it on one gig and found the harmony tracking not to be as good as the GTX either, I hope that's not the case with the Play Electric, which I just ordered to replace this Play Acoustic, which I returned after 1 gig. I really hope the harmonizer quality hasn't gone down on these new models, the harmony quality was my original reason to go with TC. If you want a VERY acoustic tone, this device will probably do the trick for you, if not, look elsewhere. Discussions on the TC forums show that several acoustic players like the Play Electric so hopefully that will replace the GTX more ably.

Zu allererst: ich bin KEIN Entertainer oder Alleinunterhaltung-Clown. ;-) Ich mache seit drei Jahrzehnten professionell Musik (Gesang, Gitarre, Schlagzeug, Sax) und bin obendrein ausgebildeter Tontechniker. Vor diesem Hintergrund hatte ich bislang immer einen großen Bogen um alle "Vocalisten" gemacht, weil ich die bisher nur bei zuvor genannten Alleinunterhaltern oder Sängern fragwürdiger Cover-Bands gesehen und gehört habe. Bei diesen "Erlebnissen" ist mir durchweg aufgefallen, dass ich das Meiste ziemlich fürchterlich fand, was da aus dieser Geräteklasse herauskam: zu viel Hall, zu viel Delay, zu viel Chorus, zu laute Backing Vocals / Harmoniestimmen. Nun hab ich mir testweise selber mal das TC Helicon PlayAcoustic zugelegt um zu schauen, was dieses denn tatsächlich kann, wenn man sich mal von den überkonfigurierten Presets entfernt, und siehe da! Das Ding kann tatsächlich eine ganze Menge und Vielen davon richtig gut. "Richtig gut" ist zum Beispiel das Gesangs-EQing. Der PlayAcoustic besitzt keine regelbaren (parametrischen) EQs, sondern wendet eine Entzerrung auf Basis von Presets an, die gleichzeitig eine leichte Komprimierung des Signals (und wie ich glaube eine leichtes De-Essing) durchführen. Angenehmerweise machet bereits das "Standard"-Preset so ziemlich genau das, was ich für meine Stimme über mein Sennheiser e935 am Mischpult auch als erstes (und meist blind) mache: Low Cut rein, dann den Tiefmitten-Sumpf um 300-350 Hz runter, dann etwas mehr Sprachverständlichkeit bei 2kHz rein und zuletzt etwas mehr Luftigkeit ab 8kHz. Wunderbar! Preset an - je nach berwendeter PA kann es auch mal das "Less Bright" Preset sein, wenn die Anlage arg scharf klingt - und der FoH-Mann muss nichts mehr EQen. Die leichte Kompression ist auch angenehm, völlig unhörbar und ggf. nicht für jedermann/jederfrau ausreichend. Da darf man dann gerne noch am Pult was drauflegen. Ebenfalls sehr gut gelöst ist übrigens der sog. "Body Rez"-EQ für die Westerngitarre. Dieser sorgt dafür, dass vor allem die über Piezo-Pickups arg unorganisch und leblos klingende Westerngitte tatsächlich wieder lebendiger und frischer klingt. Den "Amount" kann man sorglos auf Maximum drehen, da geht nichts kaputt und Phasenauslöschungen hat der "Body Rez" bei mir nicht verursacht. Auch gut gelungen sind die verschiedenen Hallräume im TC Helicon. Man muss ein wenig mit der Hall-Länge aufpassen - die meisten Programme sind ab Werk sehr lang - und auch mit dem Effektpegel, aber qualitativ sind da schöne Räume dabei. Chorus hab ich nicht getestet. Ich persönlich finde ja, dass es nichts Schlimmeres auf der Westerngitarre gibt als einen aufgedrehten Chorus. Sowas braucht's nicht, das verschlimmbessert in den meisten Fällen nur. Sehr gut funktioniert die "Extraktion" der jeweils gespielten Tonart bzw. Harmonie aus dem Gitarrensignal, um die Backing Vocals / Harmoniestimmen für den Gesang zu generieren. Die Latenz der Stimmen selbst ist quasi gleich null und die Akkordwechsel bekommt das Pedal auch relativ schnell hin. Obendrein ist die Auswahl an möglichen Kombinationen tieferer und höherer Stimmen grandios und diese klingen zum Großteil richtig gut. Besonders praxisnah finde ich für mich High & Low, wobei jeweils die nächsthöhere und die nächsttiefere Stimme ergänzt werden. Wenn man die mit Gefühl und nicht zu laut reindreht, klingt das fantastisch - auch für das kritische Ohr. Sehr organisch. Genial ist diese Funktion auch, wenn man es dediziert als Effekt nutzt. Zum Beispiel klingt es unfassbar, wenn man auf Songs wie "Flume" von Bon Iver "High & Higher" wählt - also die zwei Oberstimmen - , den Pegel der Harmoniestimmen genauso laut dreht, wie den der Hauptstimme, einen sphärigen Hall ergänzt und dann die Melodie als wunderbare Dreiklänge über der Gitarre schweben lässt. Unfassbar. Finde ich Negatives am Pedal? ZU DIESEM PREIS?!? Sicher nicht. ;-) Alles klingt recht geschmackvoll und gut, solange man es eben nicht übertreibt und einen auf Effekt-Dauerfeuerwerk-auf-dem-Gesang macht. Das nervt einfach jeden. Alleine die Gesangsbearbeitung (für dynamische Mikros, ein Neumann KMS braucht das nicht) und das BodyRez auf der Gitarre sind für mich das Geld wert. Die schnelle Erkennung der Akkorde und die Generierung der Harmoniestimmen sind eine tolle Dreingabe. Insgesamt also ein starkes Pedal, das ich - je nach Lokalität - entweder über eine Fishman Loudbox (kleine Kneipe) , über zwei Fishman Loudboxen (große Kneipe, Restaurant, kleiner Saal / Kleinkunstbühne) oder über meine Yamaha DBX12'en laufen lasse. Tolle Kombinationen, alle funktionieren völlig problemlos (und alle generieren offen stehende Münder beim Sound). ;-) Kaufen und ausprobieren! Ah, das noch schnell: -> Die Bedienung des TC Helicon ist kinderleicht. Ich habe weder in irgendein Manual noch in irgendwelche Youtube-Videos geschaut. Alles ist sofort klar, die Menüstruktur selbsterklärend. -> Es gibt einen Dreifach- und einen Sechfachschalter von TC, den man anschließen und frei konfigurieren kann. Beide brauche ich aktuell nicht. -> Und das Beste: Treten und kurz Halten des "Hit" Tasters schaltet alle Effekte auf dem Gesang (für Ansagen) UND die Gitarre stumm. Außerdem aktiviert das ein gut funktionierendes Stimmgerät für die (stummgeschaltete) Gitarre. Genau so soll das sein!! Das hat definitiv ein Musiker spezifiziert.

Gayet güzel. Tabii bunların daha yeni versiyonları da var elbette. Benim gibi amatör düzeyde şakıyan bir insan evladıysanız her şekilde işinizi görür. Kullanımı kolay, efektler keyifli.

Nada más abrirlo lo conecté al PC para una actualización de 30 a 60 segundos de Loop. Me falta explorarlo más. Vengo de un Critical Mass de la misma marca, más sencillo, pero que iba muy bien y quiero replicarlo en este. Este, además, tiene armonías vocales, varias reverbs, etc. Efectos para la acústica, que si la conectas pues las armonías van acorde con lo que tocas. El cacharro es un pepino,y además está muy bien construido (parece una tanquecito). No me doy 5 estrellas por dos cosas: 1 creo que podría venir preparado para funcionar con pilas y 2 no tiene botón de apagado. Son dos tonterías quizá.

Génial, mais attention y a pas de maj de la bête depyis des années si vous êtes une quiche en informatique ca va etre complique de l'utiliser avec votre pc. Mais si vous passez pas par l'ordi, que vous gérez tout sur sa propre interface.... ben si y a rien de mieux depyis 10 ans c’est bien qu’il y a une raison. Une pédale géniale. Des effets propres. Même poir la guitare acoustique. Ce que j'entends avec ma guitare est top. Ce que j'entends avec la pédale... ça le sublime
