First time using this and I don't understand why my pocket holes are very rough and not even removing wood on the right side of the hole??

This happened to me, too but after using it awhile. Make sure to back the bit out about halfway through to let the vacuum clear the dust. Let the drill do the work as much as possible - don’t push too hard. Make sure your drill is set to a fast setting. On my Dewalt 20v, I use the 2 setting for drilling and the 1 setting for driving the screws. I also use additional clamps to hold the piece as still as I can relative to the jig. Sometimes I did still get a slightly rough edge. Just give 1-2 rubs with a sanding sponge or a small piece of 220 grit sandpaper and the fuzz comes right off. It’s barely hanging on.

What is the outside diameter of the dust port. My shop vac hose is 2.25" outside diameter. What adapter would I need to connect to my shop vac?

The ID of the port is 1 3/16" the OD is 1 3/8"

Can you position a 2x2 so the pocket hole goes into the center of the wood?

Yes. The fixture is about 2 3/4 wide and 2 holes are about 1 1/4 on center. A 2x2 could be positioned to put a single screw in the center or so that two screws each about 1/4 inset from outside edge could be used.

Can this be use on 3/4 plywood?

That is the most common usage for pocket holes I think. I have built several projects using this jig and 3/4 maple plywood.
