This fan works GREAT and QUIET
This fan works GREAT and QUIET. I have this fan installed in an enclosed TOP Back blowing air out of an enclosed cabinet. The BOTTOM back of the enclosed cabinet has about a 5 inch round hole. The fan can easily change the flow of air based on your situation. I also purchased the AIRCOM S9 and that is also PERFECT. This is a good set-up for my situation based on my opinion and probably will not fit your configuration. I have a ROTEL AMP and then the AIRCOM S9 sits on that blowing air up and a ROTEL PRE-AMP sits on the AIRCOMS9. So, the AIRCOM is in the middle of the AIRCOM. My previous fan was so loud, it seemed there was an airplane taking off in my family room. Oh, the AIRCOMS9 is set for 3/4 on as that seems to be a good setting for me based on moving air and noise. Other reviewer have also set it at this setting.... I used an accurate temperature gauge 6-inches from the open gaps of the Rotel and it was registering 150+ degrees plus WITHOUT the fans. The fans bought the cabinet temperature to 10-12 degrees plus the temperature in the house (ie house temp is 75 then the cabinet would be around 85 degrees 6 inches above the rotel opening). THIS IS FANTASTIC. The product looks GREAT and it is QUIET!!!! It looks PROFESSIONAL.... Oh, I have a power strip so there is no reason for me to buy the remote option. I don't want power constantly going to the Rotels as our electric flickers too much!!! But, I do like remotes. Oh, the fan comes with a cut out for easy installation!!! What a GREAT product.

Outstanding cooling solution!
I bought the AC INFINITY a couple months ago to install in my computer desk. I do a fair amount of gaming on my pc running on a NVIDIA 1060 gpu that produces a great deal of heat. Not only was my video card fan running on full after about an hour of play, but the desk drawer above the pc unit would get extremely hot forcing me to pull my drawer and leave it on the shelf above my monitors just to get a little more air flowing. I occasionally build pc’s for friends and family and have quite a few 120mm and 80mm fans just lying about in my electronics storage bins and could have easily cut a few holes, installed, and be done. But, it would look exactly like it sounds. Enter the AC INFINITY cooling system. This was designed for people who want and expect more than just utilitarian. When you install one of these systems, not only does it do what it was designed to do, but it LOOKS like it belongs there. If this is important to you, then don't settle, this is what you want. This fan is packaged like the iPhone of fans. Foam backed cardboard protects the fan unit. It has a quality printed instruction manual which is easy to understand and informative. It includes a PLASTIC template instead of a paper one that you cut from the instruction manual. It came with a power adaptor if you choose to run it independently. Runs quiet for a fan on high and moves a good deal of air. Included hardware nuts, bolts and screws to accommodate the surface you may be attaching too. Installing this fan is straight forward and simple. If you are installing into a wooden surface, having a drill and a jigsaw or similar will make it a breeze. I squared the template with a torpedo level, taped the template to my desk, drilled four holes in each corner and used my jigsaw to cut from each hole with the template still attached. I had to make a few more passes because my cuts were not entirely straight, but you would never know it because the plate covers that all up when you fasten it down. I have since bought another one for my wife’s desk and we have both been very happy with the purchase.

Quality & Quiet
Bought this solidly built fan kit to cut down on heat build up inside an A/V equipment cabinet that houses a 5.1 receiver and DVD player. Ordered using standard (free) shipping and received in 3 days, Unit is well packaged with good instructions for mounting. Clear plastic template for cutting the mounting hole and drilling the mounting screw holes is included-- a thoughtful touch. Installation was straight forward. I mounted the fan near the top back of the cabinet facing out to pull the hot air out. Existing openings allow the fan to pull cool air in from the front/bottom of cabinet. If the cabinet was sealed tighter, I would buy a 2nd kit, use the USB daisy chain to power it, and mount it facing in on the bottom of the cabinet to really move some air through. The only challenge was installing by myself: How to turn a screwdriver on mounting screws outside the cabinet at the same time as holding a pair of pliers on the mounting screw nuts on the inside of the cabinet?! A pair of vise grips locked on the nuts held them in place so I could tighten the screws from outside, thankfully. Otherwise, you may need a 2nd person for a few minutes. Fan can be powered either by USB or AC power. Fan also has a 2nd, short USB "dongle" for daisy-chaining additional fans: Another thoughtful idea. I plugged the fan into the switched AC outlet on my receiver, so the fan starts automatically when the receiver is powered up. Fan also has an easily removed foam filter. Kudos for a well thought out, well built unit. Most importantly, the fan keeps things cool-- even with both the receiver and DVD player running. With the sound off on the receiver, I can just about hear the fan if I put my head right by the open cabinet door. With the doors closed and with the sound on, there is no discernable noise from the fan. I'll be buying another for cooling a computer enclosed in a cabinet in my office. Highly recommended.

Extremely quiet, comes with all necessary accessories and a template for cutting the wall!
Reason for buying: My modem, router, NAS and a Raspberry Pi sit in a closet at my house, along with their power adapters, a UPS and a printer. This heats up the closet and I wanted to vent it to keep it a little cooler. Mounting this fan in the top of the closet to blow the heat out to the closet in the adjacent office closet seemed the best way to do this, but I needed to do this quietly and efficiently. Pros: The included template made it REALLY easy to mark and cut the hole in the dryway to fit the fan. The included screws and zip tie plus self-stick zip tie attachment makes cable routing easy too. There's a power supply included to give the fan some extra oomph, rather than powering it from the USB port of the router or Raspberry as I planned to. it turned out I had an extra outlet in the UPS I could use. The fan, plate and mesh are all very nice and high quality. No chance of this bending or failing. The fan is SILENT! The only reason I hear it is because of slight resonance in the wall. I could probably reduce that by cutting some of the foam from the box the fan shipped in to the right size and make a gasket out of it. I haven't bothered. The speed control/switch is easy to use and the USB cable is long enough to reach quite far AND it has the pigtail USB port so you can plug another fan into it. Brilliant. Cons: None that I've found yet.

Quality fan with small caveats.
Installation was straightforward. I used this to vent my gaming computer out of the side of my desk in order to reduce the amount of hot air blowing on me from the computer. I used an oscillating tool/saw to cut the hole out of my office desk. A few things: The CFM is just okay, but the fan is quiet. There are some weird harmonics the fan puts out, which are mostly not noticeable when the computer is running. I plugged mine into the back of my PC and set my BIOS to de-energize the USB ports when the computer is in "soft off" mode. This way, the fan only runs when the computer is on. All in all, it does measurably reduce the temperature of the area at the front of my desk where my arms are placed while gaming. It's only a few degrees, but the perceived cooling of cooler air passing over me is by far the most noticeable part. It's built well; the quality is good.

Exactly what I needed... Perfect
Works better than expected. Plugged it in an available USB port on my Sony amplifier for power. It comes on when I turn my system on. The fan itself is nearly silent, but mounting it to the panel board in the back of my cabinet increased the sounds to an audible level - not the fault of the fan, rather the thin paneling board I mounted it to. I solved this problem by using the included plastic stencil to cut out a thin rubber gasket and sandwiching it between the fan and back board. Now I only hear the fan if I open the glass doors to get to my electronics. As far as air movement goes, my 7.1 Sony amplifier (pushing seven 3-way tower speakers), Directv DVR, Apple TV, and Bluray player stay very cool to the touch. Before the fan installation, the amplifier got too hot to touch during long, loud listening. Now, the only warm areas are directly adjacent to the power transformers of the amplifier and DVR, and that's slight... Completely safe operating temperatures even under very long and high volume sessions. This unit came with a stencil, power supply (not needed in my situation), screws, and plenty of chord length. Also, the fan's USB plug has a male and female port so you can still plug in an MP3 player or thumb drive. I haven't tried a hard drive yet, so I'm not sure if there is enough amperage available to run both. Also, the power chord was plenty long enough to go from my amp across my cabinet and up to a upper shelf to mount where the heat needed drawing out. I would buy this very fan again if needed.

Well Manufactured Quiet Fan, Comes With Mounting Template.
This fan is well designed, I am using it in conjunction with the quiet USB cooling fans that I placed on top of my amplifier. I purchased these fans to cool down my amplifier, which is located inside a totally enclosed area of my entertainment center. After installing the fan at the top and on the back side of the enclosed area, I also made a 3" hole on the bottom, which is needed when you set this up. You should have an exhaust fan at the top of the area and an inlet hole near the bottom, unless this is not in a totally enclosed area. The temperature in the area before I installed the fans was 90° (see picture in my review) Now it is running at around 72°, so it definitely has reduced the temperature inside the enclosed space. I have two cooling fans on top of the amplifier, and one exhaust fan on the back side of the entertainment center, in addition to my 3" air inlet hole (see picture). These fans are extremely quiet, and they have 3 speeds, and they can be daisy chained together. Here is the best part, they can be controlled by a USB input on the back of your TV or amplifier or they can be powered by 120 V, Both are included. I use one of the USB ports on the back of my TV to power these fans. That way the only time they're on, is when I'm using the TV and the entertainment center. Andrew and customer service was great from this company. CE listed. Watch my video to see how I installed them, there is also a picture of the 3 fans installed, with the descriptions.

Stop Looking - You Want These
I've been using these AirPlate(s) for years to keep my audio gear cool and they perform wonderfully. Years later they're still quite and strong and I've never had one fail. Just buy them, you'll be happy you did.

Top quality product, worth the extra cost
I bought this to replace another brand fan that exploded when I turned it on the first time. What a difference with this fan! Super quality, well-packaged, comes with a good manual and a helpful template for the cutout and screw holes. My only complaint is that it comes with a flat-pin plug, so you will need an adaptor to plug it into Indian sockets. I installed it in my home theater unit, which houses all my electronics, including a UPS, WiFi router, and a bunch of other things. The fan brings down the heat by almost 4 degrees in L mode and about 7 deg C in H mode. It runs quiet and cannot be heard when the TV is on. When the room is silent, the noise is audible but acceptable. It is not cheap, but from first impression, it is worth the added cost. Hope it lasts!

Quality fit and finish at an affordable price.
I was frankly surprised by the quality. Nicely brushed anodized aluminum mounting plate so that one may have it on a visible side if one wished. Decent installation instructions were included along with a plastic template. I bought an additional fan with the temperature controller and plugged this into that and it all works together nicely. Someone else mentioned that there was some vibration -- but while that may be true, it's minimal and unnoticeable in my application since our console has a hardwood backing of some density and strength. I suspect the other reviewers backing (an Ikea product) may not have had the same ability to dampen vibration. Which points to something that should be taken into consideration -- if your application and contemplated placement is too thin then you could consider a visible side as the mounting plate is quite attractive and wouldn't be a eyesore by any stretch. So, on the low setting the fan runs very quietly and undoubtedly will last a good many years.

Perfect
High quality product, well thought out design. Used with the ACFinity Smart Controller: Fan controller has very good intelligent control/options. Fans are quiet. Keeps my cupboard temps much lower and under better control than an alternative solution/product I tried before this. Including templates for drilling and cutting holes is a great touch. Has a premium feel, even the packaging.
