Can I use baking soda and water mixed together in a spray bottle?** A: That's exactly what I used. It turned out great though it is slower than say ammonia water. But for kids' safety, I used baking soda dissolved in water. **Q: Will the paper change color by simply touching it with your hand or does an acid or base need to come in contact with it?** A: The Goldenrod paper needs the acid base to change color. Need to know the range of pH indication that can be tracked with this product** A: I also need to know how high the pH has to be to redden the paper. I noticed an answer to another question requiring ammonia or baking soda with water to get the reaction indicating maybe a pH of 10 or higher? **Q: Will the color bleed if the paper gets wet?** A: So we used this for a science experiment and I would say that for the most part no, it did not bleed through the paper. The paper is fairly thick. But if you really really saturate the paper, it could happen. You definitely have to let it dry if you want to display your results. But then the red color does fade a bit.
