The capacity is about 300 pounds or so, which is enough for the two jobs I had in mind. I needed this to support the weight of a component I was removing from my tractor; that was about 200 pounds, and even my daughter could raise/lower it. Once that was done, I'm using this to raise/lower my kayak from its storage bay.
