Okabashi Men’s Surf Flip Flops - Sandals

For the money I think these are hard to beat. They are priced in the same range as a cheap pair of Walmart sandals while being vastly superior in quality. (And you are supporting fair wage paid American workers instead of Chinese slave labor) I have owned several pairs of flip flops and these by far seem the most durable. The arch support is absolutely amazing. They aren’t quite as comfortable as a nice pair of leather/cloth sandals, nor should they be expected to be because of the material choice they employ. They will however be much more durable and easier to clean than leather/cloth. I can’t stand the nasty black footprint image that develops on a pair of sandals after a few uses. It looks gross and obviously harbors all sorts of filth in the pores of the material. These won’t have that problem. They should also hold their shape for the life of the product wearing down and going flat like most leather sandals. I really like the little bumps that stick up and sort of massage your feet as you walk. I read a lot of reviews that talked about how heavy they are. I ordered size XL (10.5-11.5) and they weighed 12.3 oz each. For comparison my other pair of leather/cloth/rubber flip flops seen in the photo weigh 8 oz each. While the extra weight is easily noticed when in the hand, once you actually have them on your feet walking around the added weight disappears. I will gladly accept an extra 4 oz for the superior durability and 2 year warranty. As stated above I ordered the XL (10.5-11.5) I normally wear a 10.5-11 shoe and these fit me perfectly. They measure exactly 11.66” from tip to tip. I searched for awhile for made in USA flip flops that would be comfortable and durable and these nailed it!

It took me a little while to get used to these sandals, but I have become a huge fan ever since. I was a Teva Mush II guy for the longest time, but the Teva's have at least two fatal flaws: 1) they stink, badly, after regular wear, and 2) the soles fall apart after not very long. These sandals NEVER SMELL. Seriously. Whatever chemical formulation they use to make these is incredible because they smell exactly the same way they did when I first bought them, over a year later. And I wear them every day for hours a day. And these sandals are COMFORTABLE! You should be aware that there is a break in period where they may not feel the most comfortable. But once they're broken in they are just fantastic feeling. Bravo!

Purchase a second pair after a few years of the first pair (see review of original pair below). This pair did not need breaking in and the "tire" smell seemed to be a lot less. The Okabashi logo has now changed from the red in the online picture to (in my case) black to match the product color. I called Okabashi and was told that the logo color now matches the color of the flip flops and that they had made a small change in the product material. I am very satisfied with this new pair and may actually order yet another pair in a different color! This are very sturdy and perfect for walking around the house, yard and the beach. (old review below:) With plantar fasciitis I wear orthotics in my shoes. When I walk barefoot I experience pain. I wanted something that I could wear in the shower to alleviate the pain of standing in one spot on hard tile and that was not too fancy. These seem to do the trick. As others have mentioned, at first these do smell like a tire store, but that goes away after a short while. I was concerned about the fit at first. I am a size 10.5 Wide. At first I thought these were a touch too small and a bit too tight. After wearing these for a week they have become "broken in" and I am very happy with them. Note that these are all recycled molded rubber with no fabric, so you can get them soaking wet and dry them very quickly. These have not only become my "shower shoes" but are also my house shoes, and short excursions away from the house. Use some patience while getting these broken in and I think you will like them. I will no doubt buy another set as time goes by.

This is a good product, however I'm still looking for the perfect flip flop. I wanted a white flip flop that wouldn't leave marks on my carpet and this was successful. However, I wish they were more comfortable. Others may find the comfort level perfect for their feet!

I’m a dedicated Okabashi buyer so I bought these for my husband. All of their products run a tad bit big so size down if you are not at the top of your size. He wished I had gotten a size smaller but chose to keep them because of how comfortable they are. They are like wearing an orthopedic support. They are amazing for rocky and sandy surfaces. The quality will never wear out you will have them for life! They look great and will allow you to walk, hike, stick to any surface. I own dozens of pairs and styles and I will get him a smaller pair next summer.

Solid flops, stiff and not too comfortable. BUT these are gonna last a long time and not stretch. I wear flops all summer long here in Mississippi and I love these so far. If you want "foamy" feeling flops - keep looking. These are hard-core and I'm loving them. Best part about them... USA MADE! UPDATE: After wearing these and breaking them in - LOVE them totally. Solid and great fit. Again, these are not those cushiony, soft, walk on cloud type. My favorite pair so far!

Size is too small, bit to heavy for my taste. If I didn't wear it for few minutes, I would have return it. At the same time I noticed it's quality product, not some cheap flip flop, so it's worth the money in my opinion but size and weight are a problem.

Best surfer sandals that last and endure. Have four pair to knock about.

I bought this same model about ten years ago on a whim from a local pharmacy. The rubber is dense and comfortable to wear. There is a slight texture so your feet don't slide around too much, even when wet. I've worn these camping, beach, walking, etc. and they held up nicely. The logo part near the heel did shrink a little bit after being exposed to the hot sun on multiple occasions, but never interfered with that comfort. Unfortunately, I lost one of mine crossing some rapids and was unable to find it again. This is my second pair and have been equally happy with them. I swear they'll last for life!

Bought these to see if they would help relieve heel pain over time. So far so good, using this flip flop, and other measures. The flip flop itself is comfy once you get used to it. The initial impression is a relatively hard inflexible surface. I'm a size 10 in the UK, this was a size 11 and it fitted ok.
