It is a preventative treatment against wood rotting fungi and wood boring beetles, for use on hard and soft wood including fences, decking, sheds and garden furniture. As a primer it must be over-coated. Roxil Wood Preserver can be used as a primer before Roxil Wood Protection Cream to give maximum protection, increasing the lifetime of fences, sheds and decking. It shields against UV damage from sunlight exposure to extend the beauty of your garden timber and avoid premature silvering. All garden wood needs protection against water ingress. Review: Easy to use - Plenty left Review: Good and works! - I had to use it on an external structural beam of around 12” x 16” that had been infested with wood boring bugs and wood lice due to a leaking roof onto it and one end being exposed. It’s about 4 m long. I did all the 7 joists coming off it which are 6 feet long and 3” x 5”. I used all the 5L. For large parts of the main structural beam there were large voids and I wanted to soak the wood. Of If I had done 3 normal coats there would be another 2.5L left. But by soaking I know I stopped the infestations. I wore a proper mask and gloves and no problems. I would say it does smell slightly and when painting it on smooth wood it does dry well and quickly. I applied with a good brush with good holding ability, not a cheap brush that won’t hold liquid well. As this is not like paint, it’s more of a liquid. I applied in 20 degree heat and allowed 5 days for it to dry due to the amount I had saturated with. But the flat parts did dry as per the manufacturers instructions, I think 48 hours after doing the 3 coats 2 hours apart.
