I have to tell you this is by far the best loom I have. Quality plastic, smooth pegs, but loops do not pop off. Came with pegs inserted, a big plus. Pegs are really smooth, I can use number 5 yarn with small gauge with no problem. Adjustable easy to do. I bought two more to teach loom knitting to family members. Best loom I have. Five stars plus. I do not take pegs out so cannot comment on that. It is pretty easy to use, but it does take a decent amount of strength to attach and detach the pieces. It is sturdy, and a good value for the money since it can be used in a lot of different projects. It functions well and unlike some looms that can be changed out by parts, this one will not fall apart mid project and can take some abuse if you are a loom knitter that knits tight loops.
