Must have upgrade for entry level MTB/Hybrids
My MTB was a hybrid. It's derailleur (stock) doesn't have the clutch built in so going on actual MTB trails was brutal as the chain would always pop off. This derailleur was an amazing upgrade! Easy to install. Easy to tune. Super quick & crisp gear shifts. And best of all my chain doesn't pop off any more!10/10

Works great, super easy to install. Clean shifts
I purchased the Clutch Derailleur, the 42 Tooth Cassette and the Shifter with the bearings in it. This was my first attempt at installing any of this type of hardware on a mountain bike, and with the youtube video instructions, the whole process took under 90 minutes. The shifting is really crisp after about 5 minutes of adjusting. Converted an old 3x9 Kona Precept to a 1x9 and highly recommend it. The range of gears was great, and it really helped on my climbs. I replaced my front chainring with a 30T, but a 32T would prob work great too, but I need the help climbing at this point. Highly recommend this product and didnt see many review here or anywhere else so figured I would chime in.

3x7 to 1x9 Hard Tail Upgrade
I converted my entry level hard tail from a 3x7 to a 1x9 with all Microshift components (shifter, derailleur, and cassette). I couldn't justify the costs of a more expensive system and I was happy to find this as an alternative. After a full summer of use including xc and Enduro racing in the rain and mud the drive train continues to perform very well, the shifts are crisp and quick especially compared to my old entry level Shimano set up. One feature I did not expect was the clutch. This eliminated almost all chain slap even on extremely rocky, fast downhill sections.Definitely a solid solution if you're in the market for an inexpensive but reliable upgrade.

Easy to Install and works great
I'm only writing this because I installed this very easily. This was very easy install (thanks to their videos on their website + youtube) and changes gears as great as my expensive Sram derail I have on my other bikes. I'm amped because this will be the groupset I'll be using when I finally do what I've always wanted; order a frame and build it from scratch. Anyways thanks Advent! As a designer I have to commend you guys for this product. keep up the good work. I want to try the Advent X now. But that will have to wait for the next NBD

Excellent derailleur
I really like this derailleur. Taking it out of the box, it's a real TANK -- definitely not a fragile and lightweight piece. If roaches really do survive the nuclear bomb or asteroid apocalypse, they'll be riding bikes with these Advent derailleurs. The cage return spring is pretty strong on its own, making the clutch seem not quite as necessary. However, the ratcheting clutch does indeed increase stiffness even more. The matched shifter, however, has long levers with a long throw and shift effort feels pretty nice. There are two areas of improvement I'd recommend:1) The cable stop on the derailleur is at an angle where the cable housing will be STRAIGHT IN as it comes down the seat stay. This is great for cable path before the derailleur, but the cable path below the cable stop is often not optimal. It's nearly straight-through in the largest sprocket, near the low limit screw. But the cable takes a nearly 45 degree jog to the wheel side and then another 45 degree jog back to vertical when the derailleur's in the smaller sprockets, near the high limit screw. I suspect this is by design -- have the cable be the straightest when under the most tension, but it still seems like they could have angled the cable stop inward just slightly so that the cable path is straighter across more of the derailleur's operating range. To avoid the cable from dragging against the exit end of the cable stop, I inserted a very short section of brake noodle liner before pushing the cable through. This helps hold just a very small bit of lubricant which keeps the cable sliding cleanly.2) The clutch switch feels very positive when ENGAGING the clutch, but it often does not DISENGAGE the clutch very well. When switched to the disengage position, it often will not fully click into that position until the derailleur cage is moved some...almost like the ratchet pawls need to be correctly aligned before the clutch can be disengaged. I don't know if this is specific to my unit and maybe mine's not working correctly, or if this is how they all work or if this is how it's designed. It's not a big deal, but worth noting I think.Otherwise -- great value on a derailleur that seems like it's sturdy enough to last a million miles.

everything I had hoped for
It works like a dream. No issues when connected directly to frame on a 11-42 casette. I tried it on a 11-46 and would not work on largest cog. Tried with an extender and it seemed to throw off everything. Went back to 11-42 with no extender and is everything I hoped it would be.

Heavy duty, good for e-bike conversion, great fit and finish
I used this on a Cannondale Trail MTB conversion to e-bike with a Bafang mid drive motor. The shimano components were 5+ years old and served their purpose. I prefer the Microshift rear derailleur to the old shimano one, and no longer have any front derailleur. One drawaback is I used to be able to see which gear I was in on the shift lever. A small price to pay for smooth, durable shifting that tolerates high torque well with the clutch. One minor complaint that isn't really the fault of the Microshift components, but I want to share it anyway in case anyone else uses this with a Bafang BBSHD conversion. If I shift to the largest cog, the chain will come off. This is due to the single front cog being pretty far to the right, so the chain ends up at an extreme angle. This isn't really an issue since I wouldnt really use the largest cog anyway- I usually end up in the higher gears quickly and generally use only the 3-4 highest gears due to having the motor assist. I believe this issue would exist with any cassette from any manufacturer, and I want to emphasize that this one seems high quality and durable.I would definitely purchase this again, and am thinking about also getting it for my son's bike, as he has frequent chain issues with his stock shimano gear.

Preis Leistung stimmt

Stupidly great value, and not just for beginners
The reviews were right - microSHIFT has earned my respect and is my favourite now. Shifting is snappy, and clutch strength can also be easily adjusted. Most importantly, the build quality is absolutely mad. Feels like I'm buying a rear mech that costs 3-4x the price.
