Easy DIY for front hood lift. One lift was failed, and replaced both. Took less than 10 minutes. TRQ YouTube is one reliable source for the replacement process. The clip securing does not need to be removed...a small screwdriver or pick works great. Not sure if these will last as long as the original, but so far operating as intended.

I replaced the factory hood struts on our Acura MDX. These install exactly the same and fit perfectly. They absolutely hold the hood up, but they are almost a little too stiff. When you release the hood, it lifts, but gets a little slow mid stroke before rising to full extension. This is comparison to the stock units that when new, the hood would rise in a nice, controlled fashion at the same speed all the way to the full open position. However, these were a fair bit less money than buying the Acura OE struts, so the extra stiffness isn't a problem per se, just something that I noted. I can't speak about longevity, as they should last years before failing. But, I will report back if they fail prematurely.
