Does loving this rack make me a "swinger" - I bought an Lectric XP4 e-bike that I wanted to transport on my Class B Ram Promaster van. When I added the rear storage box, it did have an option to add bike "pegs" but the weight limit was 40 lbs. Due to the rear storage box, I needed a hitch that I could easily swing away to access my rear doors and things in my storage box. There are pricier options but the build quality of the Kuat is top notch! It's also very easy to assemble. Like, don't have your life together and you're leaving for a trip that same day and can still get it on your vehicle safely lol I wasn't sure if it was compatible with the Iron Deer bike rack that I also bought on desertcart, but when I was watching an Iron Deer install video (on YT) the vehicle in the video had a Kuat rack. I can access the latch from either side. When I first installed it, my dumb butt was crawling under the rear storage box to lift up the latch then swing it away. You can access it Sylvester Stallone style by going "Over the Top". It comes with a hitch lock which is nice. I also really love that you have the option to choose which side you want it to pivot to. For reference, even when all the "junk in the trunk" of my van I did not need to use a hitch extender. I even have the full size basket mounted on my bike and it doesn't rub up against the box. All in all Kuat is a quality product and at a very fair price. Buy once, cry once. I took the whole setup down to Mammoth Cave this past weekend and I didn't have a single issue. After figuring out how to tighten it up, it is rock solid. I have a bike rack that connects to this so that I can still access the tailgate door on my Bronco. This works great to move the bike rack forward, to avoid the spare (35" spare) ant it opens wide enough so you can access the tailgate. I'd highly recommend if you have a Bronco.
