Beautiful
First of all, I would recommend this album to any GACKT fan or anyone who is interested in trying out J-Rock. The tracks range from the softness of "Tsuki no Uta," "Hoshi no Suna," and "Solitary," to the harsh, head-banger styles of "Dybbuk" and "White Eyes." The tracks "Kimi ga Matteiru Kara" and "Birdcage" feature wonderful use of orchestra mixed with Rock while "Kimi ga Oikaketa Yume" has a more uplifting Rock sound. In addition, "mind forest" shows one of the first times GACKT mixed traditional Asian instruments with Rock in what would later become a unique sub-genre. Fan favorites like "Last Song" and "Orenji no Taiyou" (from Moonchild featuring hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel) also appear in this album. Those curious of J-Rock will have a wide variety of sounds to try in Crescent.Honestly, I've never had a GACKT item that I wasn't completely satisfied with. This is the first hard-copy of an album I own from him, and what I love about owning it is that it comes with booklets that contain the lyrics (in Japanese) and the accompanying photoshoot that sets the tone of the CD concept. Crescent contains both the MOON and Crescent lyric books.

Crescent - Gackt
Everything this super talented Japanese pop star touches turns to gold. This album is no exception! If you're looking for great music from an artist with a library of CDs which all sound different from disc to disc, then Gackt is for you! He also has a couple of video discs which really don't need translating for the images to reach out and grab you. From all accounts, he's also an all around nice guy, too. What more can you ask for?

Crescent - Cackt - Sugoi naa!
I am a new fan of Gakuto-san. When I first heard his "Rebirth" CD, I thought nothing could get better than this. Clearly I was wrong. Gackt's "Crescent" unquestionably surpassed "Rebirth". I was completely blown away by this CD. This albumn is just so powerful and mesmorizing. I enjoy Gackt's slower songs more than the ones with heavy instruments, so "Crescent" is such a pleasant treat to my ears. This CD has about 5 heavy instrumental songs and 7 slower songs. Each song was performed with such perfection that while you listen to them, you cannot help but admire Gackt's strong strive for perfection for his music.Once at an interview, Gackt said that the only thing he wants to acheive with this music is to be able to convey his feelings and his emotions to the audice through his music and his words. Well, there is no doubt that he certainly has acheived this goal. When listening to Gackt's music, you can automatically feel such a strong emotion flowing out of his voice, his words and his music. There are several slow songs on this CD that could bring me to tears. With that said, I guess I don't need to emphasize on how talented Gackt is as a song writer. Each song on this CD is my favorite, but here are several that stand out most.1. Dybbuk - I like it because it's so different. It has a little bit of punk and rap. Gackt's voice is excellent in this track, although he only sung two or three lines.2. Mind Forest - I really enjoy this song because of the background music. The tune of the song resembles a lot of "Last Song" in this albumn3. Solitary - One of the best songs where Gackt shows off his beautiful vocal strength. The soft accustic at the background sounds just like a breeze, all you can hear is Gackt's voice.4. Lust for Blood - Anohter great heavy instrumental song. The beginning part is just so powerful that it seems to want to take you to the journey of darkness.5. Last Song - This song is hands-down my favorite of Gackt. The emotion in this song is just so strong that it overwhelms me to listen to it more than once. If you catch Gackt's live performance of this song, watch how into this song he is when he is performing.6. Orange Sun - Last but no the least, this song is another 9 minute long powerful performance, this time, it is done with Hyde. I think you have to watch Moon Child to fully appreciate this song. It's almost like telling a story with the song. Hyde's voice is lower and softer than Gackt's, so this combination of vocals is perfect. I hope they do more songs together later. This is a must-have CD if you are a Gackt's fan, or if you are just curious who Gackt is. You will not regret it.Purple_Garden

Pretty good
This album was ok considering it only had about 3 songs that I liked; Lust for Blood, Kimi ga oikaketa yume and Dybbuk. It's a lot more 'rock' than Rebirth and Moon but probably still comes second to Mars which I reccomend to any new Gackt listeners.

Gackt's Crescent CD
Well, first I must say that I am no stranger to Japanese rock music. Before I got Gackt's Crescent CD, I'd already bought a few other artists: Yoko Ishida, L'arc~en~ciel, and some various artist compilations. However, Gackt, since I got Crescent, has remained in constant play.At first, I wasn't too sure about the music. I'd seen pictures of Gackt himself and found him to be rather cute. (Yes, I like Japanese men.) Upon hearing his voice for the first time, though, I was rather shocked. It seemed deeper than what I had imagined, especially after listening to two different L'arc albums. I wasn't sure I liked his music. However, after giving it a few more listens in my car, he grew on me and has been in play since. The music on this CD is absolutely AMAZING. Gackt has a vocal talent that I never would have imagined. I hear the stories in the music itself, which is something that I absolutely love about this CD. The sounds are very compelling and powerful. I'm quite impressed with the album itself. I'm also quite impressed with the fact that Gackt wrote the lyrics and music to all of the songs. Given my long history with all-female rock group, the Bangles, an artist's ability to write music as well as sing has become something I respect and look for. Gackt tops that list.Out of all of the tracks, the final track on this CD is definitely my most favourite song on the entire album. There is such strong emotion and conviction in the words and the fact that hyde guest-sings on this one is an added bonus. Each time I hear it, I simply want to melt and shed tears of happiness. The music is that compelling.
