This is a well designed media tower.
The media could not be loaded. What I thought was the only piece that was lacking quality- The coaster supplied which looks like a brown plastic snowflake- its a joke compared to the rest of the unit. I bought a steel coaster with ball bearings for less than 20 bucks and centered it by eye on the bottom wood plate. I also prelubed the bearings with a little motorcycle chain lube that turns solid after a bit. You could use any spray lube like white grease etc. Not that you need to lube the bearings this is not going to spin non stop. I just did it to stop possible rust as it will not be coming apart. I also used dots of wood glue on the panels but that really is not necessary it just makes it more solid end of the day. They give you plenty of shelves and shelf pins which I used a plastic mallet to drive in due to arthritis in the hands. The instructions warn not to drive those pins in so I tapped them in slowly and had no issues at all. The case is full with dvds on top and the extra shelves on top and it spins like a dream. This was pricey but will last my lifetime and more. I wish i had bought it sooner. I highly recommend you don't use the supplied coaster but buy the steel one off amazon or where ever. There is a center pin that goes through the base panel and then the rotating panel that sits on top of the coaster so it can't slide off the coaster. I lined up the coaster by eye and put wood glue on one side of it so it does not try to move and it turns just fine without precisely measuring the coaster to dead center. The supplied coaster is made so the metal pin centers it but the better coaster has a huge hole in the center so you can line it up by eye or measure it out as you wish. Do not put glue on the angle bracket screws as they just fit depth wise and it you put glue on them they could pop through the other side of the panel. I glued all the steal lock screws and dowls in and laid glue in the long slot the panels lay it but that was it except for the coaster. A wet sponge cleans off any glue that oozes out of the panel. Do not put in a lot of wood glue if you decide to use it just put in a few dots here and there. One photo shows the top with out the top plate installed so you can see how it goes together. This comes in two boxes and is fairly heavy. The boxes were torn up after a trip across the country but due to good packaging the products were all intact and not damaged. I laid out all the pieces and read the instructions. Do that on this one guys. Then it took about 3 hours to leisurely assemble it.

Bigger than expected..plan ahead
I'm a 76 year old female..put it together by myself...during first half of Browns/Baltimore game. I did not use powertools. Some hints: separate and count all parts (I was missing a few); layout all boards; complete all boards in each section at one time; pay attention to red or blue ends; build in place.. (heavy)...I had to allow more space than planned......so it would rotate freely. It took longer to install shelves because of tight pegs (but don't use hammer); once you get the pattern of shelves (had to re-adjust #8 shelve once it was together for my CD spacing)Customer service was FANTASTIC ..I was short a few parts...customer service sent immediately and I received in a couple of days. Glad I counted before I started to assemble.I have owned and moved a smaller version of this system for 10 years..would buy again!

Nice looking but with some improvements could be better
I was previously using a shelving unit that was not designed to stack cd's and on top of that I was running out of room. This thing was intriguing to me: I can rotate it and it uses up less space and have twice as much space? I have about 800 cds and growing, growing, growing. This claims it can hold up to 1600 standard size cd's. We will see. Here's what you need to know: They will be shipped in two separate boxes. The long box is for the side panels and inner panels. The small, square box is for the bases and hardware. They may arrive at different dates so something to be aware.Very glad I read the review on this. Had never heard of a "lazy susan" before but know what it is. This comes with a cheap piece of plastic spinner. I'd like to know how with the weight of the cabinet and my cd's this will not only rotate correctly but will it crack eventually? I recently wrote a email to the company haven't heard back why a metal one is not used instead. Important note: If you buy the metal lazy susan take the plastic one and trash it, you wont' need it. Don't use it to align with the metal one. You do NOT need to drill holes in the aftermarket nor would advice it. The only thing I wish I did was tape it on a couple of sides to hold it but once the two bottom panels are placed it stayed center for me and it won't move off center when rotating the cabinet. So got a aftermarket one on Amazon pictured next to the plastic one it comes with. The downside with assembling it is getting this to stay center when putting the center bolt that connects the base at the bottom. Other then that works great. One of the panels was not cut correctly. It's actually 1/8 inch shorter then the other 3 and has a small, nearly unnoticeable gap at the bottom. I measured all the panels and found it was actually a tad shorter. The panels were not that easy to get on and on top of that the tabs which are also plastic pushing all those tabs in hurt my hand at the end. In fact my whole body has been hurting for a couple days assembling this.Other then that it's pretty awesome and mostly satisfied with the product. As I said and others, buying an aftermarket lazy susan is mandatory. I would be hating myself if the one it comes with broke and now trying to attempt to disassemble it to replace it so make sure you buy it.Looks great in my living room!

Great storage solution!
I love physical media, and I have over 500 DVDs that needed a way to be displayed in my new, downsized home. The shelving units I looked at either couldn’t hold them all, or were so big that I didn’t have enough wall space. I found this tower by accident, and I’m so glad I did. It has a larger footprint than I imagined, but it takes up just one corner and holds my entire collection with room for plenty more. I bought an upgraded metal turntable based on others’ recommendations, but I ended up using the plastic one that came with the unit since it was made for this tower and wouldn’t require extra work, and it spins absolutely perfectly and handles the weight of the fully loaded tower just fine. This was simple to build, and the customer service was excellent!
