I connected the 3 pin header to motherboard that have jrainbow connector but there still no light on the coller?

You need to use the terrible MSI software in order to control the LED's unless your motherboard has a built in RGB controller.

Does this work with the msi z390 a pro motherboard seeing that it has a 4pin rgb header or what not?

If your has the 4 pin header, that is 12 volt RGB header. This unit I believe is set up for the 5 Volt 3 pin ARGB header. NOT COMPATIBLE AT ALL.

Is it possible to control the rgb lighting with something other than the 3 pin, maybe a 3 pin to usb adapter? my mobo doesn't have a 3 pin header.

You will likely need to run a 3rd party aRGB controller.

Are these the ones that were recalled?

Mine died in under a year so I'd probably avoid these. I decided to go back to forced air with a Noctua. Nothing worse than having one of these over-complicated AIOs dying and all of the fan noise just to make your CPU 4C cooler.
