Not quite refurbished all the way
UPDATE: YALE has replaced the lock and the new one works perfectly! Great customer service! Bought a broken lock. The only good news after Yale technical support confirmed that the lock was defective was that I could tell my wife that I wasn't installing it incorrectly and that we didn't need to hire a handyman to properly replace the door lock/emasculate me. That made me feel good...for like a second, until she lambasted me for buying a "refurbished" item to save like $20. But, I mean, $20 is $20, and if I buy like 25 more "refurbished" items that would almost pay for her next round of botox. So in actuality, I wasn't being cheap, I was being selfless and putting the needs of my wife ahead of my own. Personally, I think that makes me a hero; however, my wife doesn't quite see it that way...but of course, she injects a neurotoxin directly into her face each year which may affect her judgement and therefore I am going to side with myself on this one. Now if you'll excuse me, there's a couch that needs sleeping on. Long story short, I got sold a broken item and it doesn't appear that Amazon will let me return it because I didn't try to install it until after my return window had closed. :(

Yale digital lock
Excellent item. Exactly as described by the seller. Love the the instructions are shown on your cellphone with step by step on how to install after downloading the the app. It was easy to install.

Check the specs carefully to have compatibility with home automation.
The specs don’t list a couple of items. 1. The lock doesn’t work with the Yale app, the one my other Yale locks do work with! 2. The hole for the door is larger than a standard deadbolt, so get a hole saw powerful enough to cut through the metal cladding on your door. 3. The lock required me to get another z-Wave device to address it remotely. Other than that, it’s a solid lock.

Tried several others at great cost, these work best UPDATE!!! Yes, sour grapes, and why.
I like the integration with Alexa and Ring, and they don't use up batteries like two other brands I tried. I prefer the number pad which disappears when not in use over a fingerprint or bluetooth style of opening. Battery life very good. No problems at all! UPDATE: I RARELY WRITE BAD REVIEWS. After just a little over a year (and of course, out of warranty), the touchpad quit working. (I had purchased 3 of these locks!) I called support to troubleshoot; they had me send a video and a copy of my Amazon receipt. I was told I needed a new touchpad. I sent to them what was requested, then was told I needed a whole new unit because "it was out of warranty" . I then emailed and asked why they told me I just needed the touchpad.. They replied that they "don't sell parts". I emailed again and asked why they has just told me otherwise, they emailed they could "give me" a 20% discount if I bought it off the Yale website, but didn't give me the code. I had to email yet again for the code. Then they gave me the code. It is AnahiJ-WH54837. I went to their site and it is out of stock. My suggestions: either buy a more reliable lock or spend the $79 for a 3 year extended warranty for this $300 lock. If it is going to fail, it will probably do so in 3 years (just a guess). I just think such an expensive item should have lasted much, much longer.

Yale, como siempre calidad en sus dispositivos.
Adiós a mi viejo Kwikset, siempre me tocaba cambiarle baterías, vivía descargado. Yale Impecable, funciona muy bien el mecanismo, me fue fácil configurarlo con mis sistema de seguridad en casa de marca Vivint, su instalación solo te tomará unos cuantos minutos

Worked for almost a year, Then the Touchscreen Died
When I first installed this Yale Assure lock in the summer of 2024, I would have easily given it 5 stars. The installation was straightforward, it looked sleek and modern on my door, and the convenience of using the touchscreen keypad was fantastic. For the first several months, it was perfect. Unfortunately, that great experience didn't last. The problems started after about six to eight months, when the touchscreen became inconsistent and would only work sometimes. Now, just over a year since I installed it, the screen has failed completely and doesn't respond at all. This completely defeats the main purpose of having a keypad in the first place. Now, every single time I get to my door, I have to pull out my phone, open an app, wait for it to connect, and unlock it remotely. It's incredibly annoying, especially if my hands are full, and feels like a major step backward. For a lock from a trusted brand like Yale, and at this premium price point, I expected the core components to last much longer than a single year. A smart lock's keypad shouldn't be a disposable part that fails just outside the warranty period. I'm giving it two stars instead of one solely because the Z-Wave radio and the physical deadbolt mechanism still function correctly. It works reliably with my smart home hub, so I'm not completely locked out. But the daily, physical interaction with the lock is gone, and the convenience I paid for has been replaced with frustration. It's a real shame, but due to the unacceptable lifespan of the touchscreen, I can't recommend this product.

Save your $
If you plan to use this through an app, there are additional purchases needed, much like a ‘Samsung home hub’ which is crazy. The fact that this unit can’t connect to your wifi without additional equipment is very outdated. Way overpriced if you ask me. Expect to pay an additional $100-$150 CAD for addition tech to get this up to full working capacity as advertised.

It’s awful
I’ve had this a few years. It’s awful. I have tried to like it as they are expensive. The deadbolt always goes into the locked position when you walk by the door causing it to bang into your door casing. It won’t actually lock however when you want it too easily. The screen is very difficult to turn on to key in your pin. It’s also very evident because of the touch screen what 4 numbers get pushed for the pin. I have used a lot of similar locks. This one is an awful experience and very frustrating.

Good product, horrible horrible support
If you need to call you support (which you most likely would as the instructions are poor) get ready for super long wait times, support staff who aren't very helpful either.
