However, kitting out an entire house with Hue bulbs and sensors is an expensive undertaking, so when IKEA launched the more affordable Tradfri line, I bought four bulbs, a gateway and a couple of motion sensors. Everything worked really well at first, and I ended up replacing all the remaining 'dumb' bulbs in my house with Tradfri smart bulbs.Fast-forward 11 months and five of these E14 bulbs have now failed on me, despite having a nominal life time of 25,000 hours and 25,000 switching cycles.
