The tool is for removing valve stem keepers. You could use it but you would have to seal off the opening in the arm that sits on the valve when you are pushing down on it. So that you will push the complete valve spring and valve stem downward together. Also make sure the tip on the cam lobe for that cylinder is facing up putting no pressure on the rocker arm.
