XO Vision DX382 Universal Car Alarm System with Two 4-Button Remotes

There isn't any bad review I wouldn't say about this car alarm, because everything is as easy as 1 2 3... Super nice car alarm I've been a auto technician for 5 years and I never seen such a great car alarm like this at a great price, it has all the feature many peoples who out there that wants in their car alarm now in days, especially for me who is very picky about car alarm... This car alarm is the best that I ever seen or install, it has everything that a HIGH DOLLAR VIPER or other name brand has in its feature... Install was easy and direction was correct as stated on the manual... This was install in my Toyota truck that didn't had any power door lock and I add the DOOR locks actuators wire up right up and works great, add battery backup, tilt switch, fuel kill switch, ECU kill switch all work great with this alarm... IS A MUSH HAVE FOR THE PRICE AND FEATURES...

Outstanding for the price. I'm an electrician and my vehicle is simple, so I had no problem installing this myself. There's no real instructions included, just a schematic. You have to know what size wire to use if you want to extend the wires they supply and where to intercept the wiring in your vehicle, for example. Then you also have to be able to get to the wires, which are often under the dashboard and in wiring harnesses. One drawback is it's too easy to push the buttons. If I bend over to tie my shoes with my keys in my pocket, I'll sometimes set off the panic alarm. There is no sounder supplied with this kit. You have to buy a siren separately. The alarm is a brain that has many features. I appreciate that you can use as many or as few features as you want. I installed the brain, the shock sensor, the blinky blue LED and a separately purchased siren on the first afternoon and stopped there because.... well... I just haven't gotten around to doing anything more. I put it on a classic vehicle. Around this neighborhood there's more brazen stupidity than careful thievery acumen, so the blinky light and noise maker scares people off. I had to extend the wires to put the LED, which flashes when the alarm is armed, up by the rearview mirror which makes it look like a high class installation. The fact that the LED is blue is great. It's better than the older red ones because the blue is piercing and scums can see it from the end of the block. The features I haven't yet deployed are switches that would set off the alarm if someone opens the hood or trunk and a thing to open or close your electric locks. My vehicle doesn't have electric locks, but you can buy aftermarket actuators that will turn your old fashioned locks into modern remotely operated ones. I really want that feature but the classic is in storage at the moment, so I'll get there eventually. The shock sensor has two different adjustments because it has two thresholds. You can adjust the force required for it make just a warning chirp and the force required for it to set off the loud siren. It is difficult to get this where you want it like at least one other reviewer said because the method it uses to detect shock gets set off by fireworks (which you have a lot of in trashy neighborhoods where an alarm is necessary) and by loud pipes on motorcycles, etc. The shock sensor is good in my case because even though I didn't bother to install the door switches yet, the shock sensor will set off the alarm from the force of someone getting in and slamming the heavy classic vehicle door shut behind them. One small negative is that it's easy to accidentally press the buttons on the remote. I have occasionally hit the buttons as I'm getting the keys out of my pocket. Doesn't happen with the other alarm fob on the same keychain.

This was a little more complex to install than my previous unit (which had fewer features), because it needed external relays for the door lock actuators. It has worked very well since installing it last fall. Update 2013 Mar 18: The transmitter's lock button is getting a little unreliable, requiring pushing it a few times to get the blue light to come on. The transmitter works best if I hold it horizontally between me and the car, especially for opening the trunk, which requires a double push on the unlock button to put the receiver unit into the mode to activate the trunk release. I was trying to point at the car (like a tv-remote) and it was much harder to get the trunk release to activate. Simply changing the position of my hand made a significant difference. Overall, still very happy with this system.

To begin, I have installed close to 40 car alarms and have my degree in low-voltage engineering. The alarm is good in theory, but it does not function anywhere near to ability needed. It is unable to supply adequate voltage to trigger any of the actuators or the trunk release. as for everything else, it appears to be working properly. --David E

I installed this in my 05 Scion XB. Been great and never had a problem. The price was half of its current when I bought it, but I think the current price is still reasonable for what you get. You should be warned that this is not something a novice should attempt. It comes with NO installation instructions, just a pin out diagram. You gotta at least have some experience with wiring electronics in your car. I had to do a little online research, but I got it installed fairly easily. I didn't put in the engine cutoff, though, just the alarm. After 3 years, still very happy and plan to buy the same thing for the 02 Tacoma I just purchased :)

This alarm was terrific for the price. It comes with every feature. But it is a nightmare to install if you don't know what you're doing. But if you do, its simple. Xpress has no technical support of any kind. I didn't know what I was doing and will give my tips. The alarm came with no wiring diagrams. I found these at [...]. Having the diagrams was 90% of the battle. I installed one in a 2004 ford ranger and one in a 2006 ford escape. Once I had the diagrams, the alarm manual said there was a + purple wire for fords. follow the wiring diagram. You need to hook up the - green wire. Same with the escape. That means the anode? side of the diode on the ranger needs to be towards the vehicle wire and not towards the alarm. On the ranger, the alarm goes off when a door is opened. On the escape, the alarm goes off when a door is unlocked. Therefore, the doors have to be locked to arm to arm the alarm and the alarm need to be shut off before the care is unlocked. It took me a day and a lot of frustration to figure this out. I haven't tried to hook up the auto door opener because it will be another nightmare to figure out how to do this even though it in the end it will very simple. In the end, I'm happy with the product but wish I would have spent a little more money and bought my alarm through commando care alarms because they have technical support.

Not for beginners. I have electronic degree and have experience working on appliances but no automotive electrical experience at all. First time working on my car. Took me a whole day to install since I run power supply wire from the battery instead of taking it from ignition harness. It has 15 amps fuse, so I do not want to put extra load on the existing wire. You will need your car's wiring information such as where to find door lock wire and of what color, and whether it's negative trigger or positive trigger for your car. Finding that information took me half a day. Plus trying to understand the provided installation diagram took me more than an hour. And still don't know what door trigger wire means and how to hook it up (it comes with one wire for GM type and another for FORD type). I guess I have to use only one of them, but not sure. So, I didn't hook it up. **** If someone could explain it to me, I would be really thankful.**** If you have some knowledge about car electrical system or just have someone to explain you how things operate, it's pretty simple installation. Also buy some T-taps so that you can install it neatly. For me, I just splice it up and tape it up. So, I have key less entry and alarm working so far. That's pretty much all I need. Have to figure out door trigger hook up and what it does. Left engine cut off relay, pager output, trunk release, and horn unhooked for now. If you want to learn and like working on things like myself, it's for you. If you have no electrical background, I wouldn't recommend installing yourself. It's not the alarm I worry you would damage, but the ECU, the brain of the car. Thanks for reading. Cheers...........

Several years ago I spent over $300 to have an alarm and remote access installed in one vehicle. This time I checked around a bit more and found I could get a 'basic' alarm installed for $100 but another $50 for 'remote access'. Instead I found the XO Vision DX370 Universal Car Alarm System with Two 4-Button Remotes on Amazon at $29.99 and am very glad I did. You will wish you had at least SOME experience in installing these things when you install it yourself but the XO Vision is, indeed, a fully featured alarm system costing $250 -$350 from other manufacturers. I bought mine and installed it on my truck in about 1 1/2 to about 2 hours. Since my truck is an SUV, the remote unlocks both the doors and the back rather than a trunk. The XO Vision DX370 contains enough spare parts to use with with just about ANY configuration and even supply's it's own siren for that price!! Not only is it a fantastic bargain but it works beautifully! Try to start the SUV without disarming the alarm and the anti car-jacking protection has that vehicle dead as a stone! I pull and let drop a windshield washer blade to show my wife how the system is sensitive enough to 'chirp' out a pre-alarm at that slight of a pressure change. Since then I've purchased another XO Vision DX370 alarm for my wife on HER truck and I'm waiting for my daughters to tell me when they're ready for alarms installed on THEIR cars to order more! Hey! My advice is to buy as many of the XO Vision DX370 Universal Car Alarm System's as you can before they wise up and raise the price!!

Product is good still working. Purchased the product February 2015 now I'm having a problem with the remotes sometimes working sometimes not. Can I order just the remotes ?

The remotes had dead batteries in them. Once I replaced those, everything worked as expected. Doesn't include a siren but does have an output for one. Since I was replacing another aftermarket keyless entry/alarm system that had malfunctioned, I was able to reuse the old siren with this alarm. Alternatively, there is also a horn output to use if you don't have or want to purchase a seperate siren or if you wish to more closely emulate an OEM security system. The separate silent arming button on the remote is a nice feature.

First and only product I ever returned to Amazon in all the years. So many missing parts, box crushed and open on arrival. Schematic is poor, but you need to be able to read one to do this. 90% of the features on it, required other parts.
