Cleaner is not the same as a Descaler. Cleaner removes residue from washing machine, and is supposed to remove odours inside the drum - especially if you tend to use any powdery detergent or fabric softener and such. We did see small amount of dirt / grime in the water expelled. The product has a 5 year expiry - but Apr 2025, you receive something mfg in Feb 2023 (so not fast moving goods). But because heat and humidity can affect chemicals, one hopes that the warehouse storage was proper. The product was delivered properly sealed. Manufactured in Germany. If you pay a steep price, you want the genuine thing.

I was initially confused between the descaler & cleaner. Cleaner: It cleans the internal parts, drum and the outlets removing dirt, bacteria, smell, bacteria, fungi, detergent deposits and other residues. Its used at 90°C temperature and I've a dedicated function on my Bosch. You may also use it at the highest temperature with longest run cycle in other case. -> Use full packet at once Descaler: As the name suggests, descaler removes the salt/scales that deposit in the interiors and parts of the washing machine with time. It especially helps where the water is hard or has very high TDS. Descaler must be used at 60°C with longest cycle. -> Use full packet at once Conclusion: If you use your machine daily, cleaner & descaler must be used at every 3 months. I use my machine 2-3 times a week so I clean & descale it every 90 -100 washes or 6 months, that too alternatively. i.e. at 3rd month I use cleaner, 3 months after cleaner I use descaler. 😎 You can keep a record when u last used it by writing a date on the cleaner and ordering accordingly. But it's too expensive, when i compare and used with ifb and other desclaling products, the same cleaning process with good result. Totally it's waste of money, can use any Dr scaling product ( it's just like utensil washers like Vim, Prill, Vim bar), since afterall our washing machine drum made from chrome plated mild Steel, it's not made from Gold.

Have tried other descalers before not sure if they worked Recently the machine was giving out an odor and tried a cheaper brand descaler but found no results even tried using dryer freshener sheets in my Siemens washer dryer still the same Had remembered the demo guy years back had recommended Bosch’s cleaner so I decided to give a try albeit expensive. Got the product today and followed the instructions Asks to run a 90c wash cycle at first till the water heated up thought it’s working the same as other cheap cleaners but once it reached temp I could see the grime floating in the water as well as the water turned dark Odor has gone don’t find much of any fresh odor but that’s fine Would highly recommend this to any one with a Bosch or Siemens machine perhaps could be used for other brands that have a 90c wash cycle

Acquistato perché l’app Home Connect, dove ho collegati tutti gli elettrodomestici, mi ha segnalato la necessità di fare la pulizia del cestello (lavatrice nuova, 6 mesi) della mia Bosch serie 8. Devo dire che fa esattamente quello che promette: pulisce a fondo la macchina e lascia una sensazione di pulito reale, senza odori strani ed eliminandone. Anche se la lavatrice è nuova, dopo il ciclo si percepisce comunque la differenza, soprattutto a livello di freschezza. È molto semplice da usare: si versa nel cestello e si avvia il programma dedicato, senza complicazioni. Comodo anche per chi non ha voglia di stare lì a capire dosi o passaggi strani. Solo da l’app è possibile far partire il programma dedicato alla pulizia cestello, ma siccome sulla confezione ce scritto programma minimo 90º, e l’app per questa funzione era fissa su 70º, ho fatto partire un programma cotone a 90º, nella speranza che il risultato sia lo stesso. Su questo c’è da fare chiarezza. Costa più di altri prodotti simili, è vero. Però preferisco usare qualcosa di specifico per la lavatrice Bosch piuttosto che prodotti generici. Anche perché è una cosa che fai ogni tanto, non tutti i mesi, quindi alla fine la spesa non è così pesante. (Attualmente 12€) In sintesi: utile, facile e coerente con quello che promette. Per la manutenzione della lavatrice, promosso.
