Good card for dual sata.
My needs were relatively simple, dual sata m.2 slots to fit in an x1 slot. I use in a Debian Linux system with 6.1 kernel. Its plug-and-play, no driver installation needed. I took off one star because one of the heat sink screws was missing/wrong screw. Luckly I already bought a kit of common computer screws. and found a fit. Overall, I'm satisfied.

Quality Device, Easy to Use
I was impressed with the heatsink, it was thicker than it looked in the photos. The entire card feels solid and it arrived with all the mounting hardware and thermal pads. I installed two M.2 sata drives onto this card, then plugged it into my TrueNAS/Plex server and it just worked from the moment I booted up. I didn't have to fiddle with settings, or the BIOS, drivers, or anything. I was pleasantly surprised how easy the entire process was. I would highly recommend this as an easy way to add M.2 drives to a system without having to use the motherboard SATA ports.

Great build quality.
As long as you read the description and know it's M.2 Sata drives, you won't be disappointed. The PCB and heatsink feel very high quality. Screws and thermal pads are included. No drivers required. No Sata cables required. Very clean looking.

Use a PCIe 3.0 slot
I used this card to connect a couple older SATA SSDs into my system. The main thing I found is that since this is a x1 card, there is a big difference between a PCIe 2.0 slot and 3.0 slot. I had first placed this into a 2.0 slot and the transfer speeds were limited to about 190MB/s. 190MB/s is more like HDD speed. It really doesn't matter what size the slot is, it could be a x16 2.0 slot, but because the card is physically x1 you will get x1 2.0 speeds. If it was a x4 or x8 card it might perform better in a 2.0 slot. After moving this to a 3.0 slot the speed increased to about 550MB/s. This is around the limit of the older SATA SSD drives I had, so I can't comment on max possible speed. Overall use a PCIe 3.0 slot for better performance.

Killed an SSD, runs way to hot compared to using a motherboard m.2 slot.
I bought this so I could use my SATA SSD's in a way that wouldn't use the onboard slots, sadly last night this thing literally cooked one of my SSD's. I check the remaining device with the heatsink, SMART reported over 60c idle temps, FWIW idle temps using the motherboard slot without a heatsink are 20c cooler. When the system glitched the card was hot, almost too hot to handle. So now I have 1 dead SSD and a 2nd that may be compromised long term.

Works Well
Used this to add two m.2 SSDs from my laptop to my desktop. Easy installation, much higher quality materials than the last one I tried.
