Microphone Shock Mount Clip Universal Mic Holder Stand Anti Vibration for Shotgun Microphone

Bought this to use with an Audio Technica AT-875R short shotgun microphone, and that mic is just barely big enough to fit with the foam wind screen on it. But it will definitely also hold an SM57/58 or really any microphone with a barrel that will fit in the hand. The mount functions as intended, the adapters work well, it is really easy to set up and holds the mic exactly where you need it. The range of adjustability is on par with most other forms of microphone mounts, and it holds my tiny shotgun tight enough that it can be mounted completely vertically and I have no concerns with it falling out of the mount. It comes with additional rubber bands (which I suspect are actually O rings), which is a nice feature but it is quite likely that when one of these breaks it will be because they're old and dried out. The O rings that come with it to replace will be just as old, and at that point may break just trying to install them. But in any case it is a thoughtful gesture. Overall, this is a good shock mount and will securely hold most handheld sized microphones. Obviously there is no perfect shock mount, if you're moving around and bumping into things it'll still appear in the audio, but it does reduce handling noise a fair amount if you have to move it while recording. No mount will stop the transfer of all vibrations, especially if its on a desk and you're moving stuff around on the desk and bumping into the desk. That being said, this is still better than just being clipped onto a microphone stand with the ABS clip the microphones come with.

The Eggsnow shock mount clip is a fantastic value and does exactly what I needed—keep my shotgun mic stable and vibration-free. I tested it with both a Rode NTG and an Audio-Technica shotgun mic, and it held them securely with no slipping or rattling. Works fantastic with my Rode NTG-2 shotgun mic. I don't own an actual boom pole, so my DIY one is made from an extendable painter's pole. It's fiberglass, which I'm sure contributes to the fact that minor hand movements during recording still tend to show up in my audio, even with this shockmount attached. It DOES knock down the level of "handling noise" by a lot, and it is possible even with a cheap DIY boom pole to get fantastic audio from this shock mount if you're careful. I'm sure it sounds even better on a real boom pole that does a better job dampening vibrations from hand movement, etc. It's smaller than I expected from the pictures (probably 2 inches in diameter, roughly), but holds my mic securely and is very easy to use. A word of caution; I've had a lot of the black bands that come with it break. You can use regular old rubber bands if you get the right size, but I think you can also get thicker, ones like the ones it comes with pretty cheap at any hardware store (Home Depot, ACE, Lowes, whatever). Don't spend a ton of money to get the "made for shock mounts" ones. Highly recommended, great cheap shock mount for video production.

I needed something inexpensive for SM 58s. This did the trick, however I did have to modify a little bit. The bands that came with them were very tight which picked up all ambient audio such as tapping on the desk. Fortunately I had a couple of longer rubber bands for the top. I also removed one of the bands for the bottom. It seems to do okay now.

I am using these two shock mounts I purchased to hold two Crown CM200 condenser microphones while recording acoutic guitar. The crown mics are excellent sounding on the guitar as well as vocals but are subject to mechanical noise transferred through the mic stand. The elastic bands are very stiff and hold my 1" diameter microphone body perfectly. It of course, will also accomodate larger body handheld mics such as a Shure SM57 or Sm58s. It did come with an extra set of elastic bands and one 7/8" 27 thread to 1/4" female adapter as well as another of the same to a 3/8" female adapter. I also like very much that it has a large thumb screw swivel tension adjuster to allow real lockdown tension to be applied so that heavier mics won't sag unintentionally. All in all, a great deal for 10 bucks!

I purchased one of these specifically for use with an older version of the AT4021 condenser mic and now at 1 year in I thought it would be best to drop a note or two here. The mic is extremely lightweight and this mount works perfect for it and does do what I need it to do which was to isolate typing noise from my steel and glass pc desk however there's a issue that could easily be fixed by the company that created it with a slight change to their molding process. The notches where the bands go are not de-burred or cleaned after the molding process which creates sharp edges where the mold cuts are for the bands that support the mic. This causes the bands to go bad and break about every other month and this is with no physical handling of the mic itself. Having worked at an injection molding plant this is a normal process and obviously something this manufacturer ignored for the sake of cutting costs. Here's the problem. These are neoprene o rings and there's a reason for this as neoprene rubber is more acoustically dead than the rubber used in a typical rubber band. So to substitute a regular rubber band pretty much defeats the purpose of the shock mount altogether. 5 minutes with a small circular file or some sandpaper will fix the problem and any good hardware or home improvement store will have the original type o rings in the plumbing department but the point is this should have been done before the device was sold. Obviously the creator chose profits over long term customers so I have adjusted my ratings accordingly. Since amazon only lists 3 things to rate by I gave it 4 stars for sturdiness because overall it was designed to be strong and it is. Value for money I gave it 4 stars because the price is good for what you get. Since there is no quality of workmanship rating which I would give ZERO stars for I have to go by the "quality of material" rating and gave it one star. Its designed well and has everything it needs however the lack of quality control and proper finishing has made it inferior and questionable and nobody should have to "repair or adjust" a newly purchased product, it should come ready to use as pictured. So if you buy this and want it to last and be trouble free, upon arrival remove its o rings and look for excess sharp plastic areas where the o rings go and use sandpaper or file accordingly to smooth the surfaces from cutting edges. Once that's fixed this should be trouble free for the rest of its life, however keep in mind, ALL rubber deteriorates with time and the average lifespan in open air of a neoprene o ring should be 3 to 7 years. Keep extras handy. Would i buy it again? Yes. Just wanted you to know this device will need some added attention to continue to work properly upon its arrival wen you purchase it.

Nice low-cost shock mount for barrel-type microphones. There was a feature missing from the photo (Although not in the description) so I contacted the seller to inquire about it, and they refunded my money on the spot with no return needed. Impressive customer service.

Much more sturdy than the Rode variant. I accidentally dropped the Rode shock mount from waist height onto a hard floor which broke off one of the band fixing lugs. Looks like this version will withstand this kind of mishap.
