I HIGHLY recommend buying this straightener if you are looking for a long-lasting, high quality, hair preserving straightener.I bought this straightener 3 years ago at Sephora and although it was more expensive than I was wanting to spend, it has been worth it. It heats up very fast and beeps to let you know it is hot. It straightens my hair quickly and evenly. I usually only spend 3-5 minutes straitening in the morning with it. It leaves your hair looking professionally straightened (And I am REALLY bad at using straighteners) and lasts until you wash your hair again.The best part about the Sultra straightener is that it doesn't leave your hair looking fried or damaged. Over the past 3 years that I've used it, my hair has become much more healthy and vibrant looking compared to how it used to look after using lesser quality straighteners.The Sultra is also really easily to maneuver as it is light-weight, slick, and the cord easily twists around as you go through different sides of your head.Overall, I was VERY pleased with this product. It lasted much longer than any other straightener I've ever had (most have only lasted a year or so), and it was producing high quality results the whole time I had it. After three years of use, mine is finally broken (it just stopped heating up a week ago), and I have already ordered a new one on Amazon.

I don't straighten my hair very often, so I decided to buy myself a high-quality flat iron to last me a while. I used to use a basic Chi, which I liked a lot, but thought I could do better. The reviews for this one looked promising, so I bought the Sultra. It was fine at first and had a SUPER fast heat-up time. But after only a few uses, it stopped working properly. I would turn it on, it would make the normal beep, the light would flash... but it wouldn't get hot! I ended up having to send it back for a replacement, which the seller did no problem - but then the second Sultra iron did the exact same thing! I used it MAYBE 5 times before it stopped heating up. I give up. There is NO way this item is worth anywhere near what it costs.

I'm not usually compelled to write reviews. This is my first for any Amazon purchase. I simply LOVE this iron too much to not tell about it. It's sleek and sexy looking, but that's just a perk.I used it for the first time today and am blown away. My hair is below my waist and just above the hip. Hair texture is medium but more on the thick end if the spectrum with drastic highlights.I washed it yesterday, but didn't have time to blow dry it. I put a nickel-sized squeeze of Chi Slk Infusion through my hands and then throughout my hair. It was then wrapped into a bun and off to work I went. The result when pulling it down and brushing it out was messy, kinky waves; not cute, styled waves- just VERY messy hair. The next day-- in my haste to try the iron out, I figured this was the best chance to try the "single-pass technology" that Sultra advertises on the box and website.I did not use a heat spray prior to using the iron. I know, shameful. But I was able to straighten my entire head of hair without passing the iron over the same section. My hair is shiny and silky and most importantly, straight! This impressed me immensely! There was no tugging or snagging or burning like other irons I have used in the past. I used the thick setting and had no issues whatsoever.My previous iron was a 1" Ultra Chi. I never had a complaint about it, but I never new irons could be like the Seductress. I know I have only used it once, but I don't foresee any issues and look forward to daily use. My next experiment is to try curling my hair with the iron. I will post an update on that when I try it.I am beyond impressed! I love that there are three settings and it is safe for color treated hair as well. Highly recommend!

It seems gorgeous and beautiful in the beginning, but beware... it will start beeping uncontrollably and not working in no time.

I was so excited to order Sultra the Seductress flat iron. I had done my research on the product, and had mainly seen only good reviews. This iron actually seemed to have the highest rating over any of the other high quality irons I have researched. I just received my iron today, and was honestly so disappointed in the results that I received. I followed all instructions exactly as stated. I used the Fine setting, because my hair is pretty thin (which I am glad that I used the Fine setting, because even that setting got extremely hot). I made sure to spray heat protectant on my hair prior to flat ironing it as well. I immediately noticed as I was finished, that my hair just looked dull and not shiny at all. I thought that maybe I was just over analyzing, but then took my Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium and straightened the other side of my hair, only to find how much more shiny my old iron made it.I also noticed a lot of static from the Sultra. The only real great aspect that I loved about this iron was that it did not snag my hair at all. So all in all I was pretty disappointed with this iron. It looked so sheek and I was so looking forward to my hair being silky smooth and shiny, and becoming healthier as reviews the product advertisements said. It is possible that I got a dud, I really am not sure. But just thought I would write a review, given having a nice flat iron, and knowing what expectations to expect from a higher end iron. If any of the good reviewers have any tips for me, as to maybe why it has not worked as well, I would really appreciate it. Because I really was excited for this iron, and would like to know if I got a dud or something like that.

Love it! So easy to use and amazing for thin hair and has a setting for thin or thick hair. Great quality. I am not an expert when it comes to straightening and this makes it so easy!

I have now bought two sultras because I was told they were quick, fast, and high quality. The first one broke within one and a half years and the second one broke within six months. The hing breaks loose from the inside and affects the opening and closing of the straightener and also its ability to stay on. I had a Chi for eight years prior to this straightener. I will be going back to Chi, as this straightener is way too much money for the bad quality.

It is worth a investment if you are into straighting your hair on regular basis. It doesn't give too much thermal stress on hair and damage it like others. The long hot plate allows for a good coverage and reduces the time in front of the mirror.

I had one of these before and loved it. I gave my old one to my daughter and I am using the new one and love it they are awesome

I had one before and loved it! Went to Europe this summer and fried it. So order a replacement one and it doesn't work at all like the first one. Hair is not a smooth despite going over it multiple times. Was going to return it and sadly it doesn't look like I have the option anymore. Just bought it in August.
