10192 (192 Pack) 192PK Fireplace Lighter, 1, tan, 192 Count

Ok, I am not the most proficient fire starter. In fact, I usually can’t keep one going even if I manage to get it started. I’ve used paper, kindling, paper towel and toilet paper rollers, pretty much anything that’s safe to burn. I even tried the little 5 oz wax-coated paper kitchen cups since that used to work in the good ol’ days—the wax would melt on the log and keep burning until the fire started. But not anymore—they don’t make ‘em like they used to... Then along came FIRE LITERS! (Now I’ve used other fire starters but they are usually way more expensive and/or I couldn’t get by with just one.) So, I decided to try this box of 192 Fire Liters thinking I would probably need more than one, knowing my luck, but figured it was worth a try. These little buggers are incredible! I used 3 pieces of firewood—2 side-by-side and touching on the bottom and 1 across the top forming a triangle with a center opening. Then I placed one tiny section of Fire Liter in that opening and lit it. It actually got the fire started and it stayed lit! The only thing I noticed was I had to hold my lighter’s flame against the Fire Liter for quite a while to get it to light which could result in going through lighters pretty quickly—the only drawback as lighters can be pretty pricey and offset the great value I got on the 192-count box of Fire Liters. Thinking that my success was probably a fluke and I wouldn’t be so lucky next time, I was a little doubtful that I would have the same success the 2nd time—which was early this morning. Again I placed my logs in the woodstove as before, but this time I put the single Fire Lighter inside one of the aforementioned wax-coated cups. I lit the cup edge which lit right away and watched it burn and ignite the Fire Liter which then started my firewood. Amazing! Having picked up a package of 100-count wax-coated paper cups for $3.19 (about the cost of one good long candle lighter) and this 192-count box of Fire Liters, I can start a fire everytime for only pennies a day. Plus, I don’t have messy kindling laying around, or a bunch of newspapers, packing paper, etc. All I have is my pretty black log holder and my black ash bucket that doubles as storage for my Fire Liters, my paper cups and my lighter. So neat and tidy and my fires light and stay lit everytime! Very pleased with this product.

Year #6 in my new wood stove. Totally heated w/ wood years ago, so know the drills. These starters are the BEST!! You won't be sorry!

With seasoned Wood, 2 to 4 of these very small squares start my Woodstove perfectly. They are also a very economical way to start a fire vs the larger fire starters that are about the size of a brick.

I ordered these because I have used these before. For some reason, these dont always start or continue to burn after starting them. However, when they do take they do wonderful. I have used several different lighting products, amd the outcome has been the same, so it wasn't that. They smell like cherry or fruity of some sort so, that is a nice bonus.

I have had a wood burning stove in my home going on 3 winters now. The first year I did newspaper with a couple pieces of kindling, and then my big pieces. Kindling is extra work (which I enjoy), but since having littles I don't have as much time to spend to myself and they're still too little to be helpful or stay safe. All that to say - these have been awesome. I can stack all my large pieces of oak, with one rolled up newspaper and two little squares and I'll have a fire for the day into evening. These are better than other firestarters I've purchased in the past (I'm on my second batch of these) - my last purchase was Feb last year (they last a while). Also, they smell good! Like a GOOD scented candle not a overpowering/ headache smelling candle.

Been using these for years...sadly local hardware store stopped carrying them. Amazon to the rescue. These break apart easily and light just as easy. The last a decent amount of time...unless the wood is wet 1/3 of a piece usually gets the fire started. Not sure how they come up with 192 starters. The pieces would be too small unless the wood was tinder box dry. They work well at a decent price.

My main heat source is wood. I also live in a very cold area so keeping heat going has to be quick and easy. This is the 2nd year I have used this porduct and plan to use each year as long as I burn wood. Easy to use. Starts wood quickly and cleanly. Over the years I have tried many fire starter products and this is the best I have ever found. This review is one you can count on to be real.
