ReSound Unite™ TV Streamer 2

What an amazing piece of equipment! This feeds through my phone to my hearing aids and doesn’t affect the volume for others in the room.

The best money I have spent in a long time. Easy to connect and use.

Works well. That being said i had to find locally cabling that would permit to connect from streamer to Dell unit. It also takes real patience to pair with hearing aids. Very sensitive.

I am so happy with this product I had to review it right away. I had been using resound multi mic to pick up the tv sound but finally had to replace it so I got the TV Streamer 2. The sound is stereo and crystal clear. It took me a bit to figure out the setup but it ended up being so easy. I just plugged in to the optical out on my audio receiver to the device. Paired first try and wa-la. Others can set the tv volume to their liking and it doesn’t change what I hear. I use my resound app on my iPhone to control it so if you have the app you don’t need the remote. I can walk into the other room and even outside and still hear it clearly. This is worth the price. (Update: device stopped working the next day; trouble shooting found it was the cheap usb adapter that came with the unit. Replaced all is well again.)

Unite was easy to install as advertised. But, I could not get it synchronized to my television, even after calling the company for help. Also, the sound was absolutely horrible, I guess hearing aids are not exactly high end speakers. after spending $400.00 for the resound Unite, I believe that it would be better to spend about $40.00 for a Bluetooth transmitter for my television and just using my Bluetooth headphones. Which I am going to do.

This solution works *really* well for hearing aid users. I was surprised how well I understood voices on TV. My speech perception is poor and I usually have to crank volume up to levels that are very uncomfortable for people with normal hearing. I connected this to the pre-amp output of my receiver and now I can actually mute the TV and still get a full signal through this streamer. It has a volume adjustment on top and you can use your Bluetooth app to control it, too, or simply the volume buttons on your aids. With the correct hearing aid adjustment, you can select how loud the external voices are and I was able to talk to and understand people next to me WHILE also hearing the TV, so you are not cut off from ambient sounds using this streamer. Highly recommended, I subtracted one star for the exorbitant price (cost of parts is probably $20), but this qualifies as an HSA expense, if you have one.

If you can figure out how to get it set up, you may like it. It has a pair process similar to doing bluetooth pairing - but without any useful visual indicators whatsoever. Even the most primitive of devices I have paired in the past at least had some kind of documented visual "success" indicator. (Like maybe the blinking pairing light would change its pattern or change its color to indicate a successful paring - but not so with this device.) It is equally non-intuitive to figure out how to turn on and off the "connection" between the TV streamer and the hearing aid. (It's not hard to do once you figure it out.) And the instructions we could find online for how to do that did not work.
