Then fine press( w/ fingernail) the sticker to word it into anchoring to the wood. I installed mine on a dark fretboard and they are perfectly readable. If you install them like the picture in the listing you are doing it wrong fret one should be on the first fret wire, if you want to use the fret 0 sticker as I did place it against the nut. They take about a minute to install all of them if you take your time (on acoustic) i pulled the sticker through the sound hole and slid them up the strings to the desired fret.Cons- the stickers do not line up with string spacing on any guitar.
