My husband and I had replaced flooring in several rooms in our home a few years ago and ran into a few problem areas when trying to cut pieces to fit around doors and stairs. If we had these Varsk gauges back then, it would have saved us hours of painstaking headaches trying to get the correct measurements and fit in those tedious areas. Now that we've found these contour gauges in different sizes, we did sort of a dry run test to see if they would work well for our project. Yes, we think we're ready to tackle our kitchen floor! They both performed just as advertised and we can't wait to get started after the holidays. Easy to use, we'll made and locking mechanism worked well. Packaging was also good and shipping was expediant.

Great tool work great

Purchase this for a project that we’re doing on an old home. While it appears to be extremely durable, the functionality is not the easiest. I thought this would be easier to use, but it was actually quite complex. Also, even the longest one wasn’t long enough for some of the corners we were trying to mimic This would be excellent for smaller areas.

Oh my God! I have installed some laminate flooring and have doors/skirts/etc. everywhere. It's always painful. Trying to track them and then copy them to the floor is very difficult, especially if you need multiple planks to get around the object. I am installing another laminate flooring, which is amazing! It is very simple to use, just push the gauge to any position you need, lock it, place it on the item that needs to be cut, and then simply track and cut it. It works well, and it is undeniable that the cutting part is still annoying because you need the right tools to cut, but in this way, all guesses in the project are logical! Great gadget!

I ordered this item as a present for my brother's birthday. He recently moved his family into a house, so you know what that means - DIY home projects! He has always been very particular about many things. For example, the placement and positioning of carpets/coffee tables/drink coasters, the slicing of pizza, and even right down to the way he eats ice cream. When I learned about Contour Gauges, I saw his name plastered right on the concept. I can admit that I am a person of many mistakes but boy, did I get this one right. When I gave it to him and he realized what it was for, I could see the endless possibilities flooding his brain. His wife messaged me a few days later to thank me for the present. She said he dove right into using it and that he was very happy that he received contour gauges in 2 sizes. I just returned from a visit to their house for my niece's birthday. True enough, I saw the contour gauges on my brother's desk, in use. He said they were very helpful, especially this past week while preparing for my niece's birthday. Along with having two sizes and complimenting the build quality, he was very appreciative of these gauges having a lock feature. So, I believe this is Mission Success! While I can't speak much on the technical proficiency of this item in my review, in regards to its intended purpose as a present, I give it high marks. If you have a loved one like my brother, I highly recommend this product.

Got this to help me cut vinyl flooring rolls around door frame and toilet. Think this tool takes practice. And definitely has a right side up. No regret buying and will try it again later.

This is the first of these tools I've ever had! Works perfectly for what I needed it to do. I was able to cut wood around multiple mugs for our kitchen. Perfect for the craftsman! I highly reccomend this!
