ASPECTEK 20W Heavy Duty Bug Zapper, High-Voltage Electric Mosquito and Fly Killer, Indoor and Covered Outdoor Gnat Control for Bedroom, Patio and Greenhouse, Includes 2 Bulbs - Purple

After a few months of use, I have to say this is an excellent bug zapper. I had a pretty bad fly problem going into the summer, and this has made a noticeable difference. I used to rely on sticky traps, but they’re messy, unpleasant to deal with, and honestly pretty gross. This is a much cleaner and easier solution. This looks nicer than the lantern style zappers you'll find at the hardware store. There are a couple of things to be aware of. Occasionally, a bug gets stuck between the electrified posts for too long, which can cause a burnt smell. The light is also very bright. That’s great for attracting flying insects, but I wouldn’t recommend placing it in a bedroom or anywhere you’re trying to sleep. My biggest complaint is the collection tray. It isn’t quite large enough to catch everything. When the bugs get zapped, they can sometimes be blown in different directions, so I usually find a few dead bugs in a small area around the zapper. It’s a minor inconvenience, especially considering how well the unit works. Other than that, it has been running for a few hours a day for several months without a single problem. Just clean it out regularly and it should continue working well. I think this is a great value. It even came with two extra bulbs, which I haven’t needed yet. If you’re dealing with flies or other flying insects, I would definitely recommend giving this zapper a try.

Hawaii resident here with lots of mosquitoes and flies. Don’t listen to the other reviews about the loud noise when it zaps a bug - it’s working and worth it. It catches everything from the ultra small to the ultra big. Sometimes the larger houseflies survive the initial zap, but ultimately die anyway or just fly right back into the electric field till done. Either way the initial zap kills their ability to fly again. I’m surprised at the efficiency and effectiveness. Astonishing. My friend had a really old model that looks just like this so that’s what prompted me to buy it and it lasts a very long time. Clearly they didn’t change the design much because it’s incredibly effective. Don’t change it’s not broken I guess. Anyhow, I would completely recommend this and I’d rarely leave a recommendation on anything here.

Thanks to a flower delivery I became overrun with houseflies. By the time I was able to get this the 2 small ones had taken care of a few but there were still plenty. Even though some had said this wouldn’t work on houseflies I took a chance. Within 2 hours 6 houseflies were dead & a number of small fruit flies were too. I’ve put it near a window, about 3 feet from it in my bedroom. It has a good amount of cord. It does make a sound when the bugs are zapped but I don’t mind that because it tells me it’s working. With my experience I highly recommended this. I’m going to leave it on 24/7 until I don’t see as many dead bugs then I’ll put it on after dark.

I purchased this item 7/2026 and now it has stopped working completely it has only been two months! I would not recommend this product it’s a waste of money. Bummer that the return time frame closed so now I’m stuck with this useless piece of junk!

This thing is a beast!!! I was skeptical until I put it into use! Anything in its path gets zapped. My only real surprise is the sound made with an insect gets zapped! It sounds like a .22 bullet going off! Yes, I would recommend this product for use.

At first I was very happy with this zapper. It was crackling away and I found a lot more bugs in it than I expected. I was surprised at how many small insects were coming in the house. However, I bought it to kill the flies that were annoying me, and unfortunately many of the flies are too hearty to be killed by it. I find them walking around, recovering. Unless I immediately find them and kill them myself, they fly off, only to put their dirty feet over my surfaces all over again. It is definitely not "Heavy Duty" as advertised.

This bug zapper works well. My only dislike is that it is Really Loud when it zaps a bug. I'm hard of hearing and my 13 y.o. dog is almost deaf and it makes both of us jump when it zaps! It wakes my poor old guy up from a sound sleep when it zaps! The good news is that it gets those pesky flies and mosquitoes. The clean up is easy. If the bug hasn't been blown to bits, its dead carcass is in the easily removable tray for dumping. I'm thinking I'll move this to the covered back porch and get something a little less noisy for the living room. Would I recommend it for indoor use? Maybe. I've had this for a week and still jump when it zaps, so maybe not. For a covered outdoor use? Absolutely. Keep in mind that it is for Indoor use so if you put it outside, be sure it is protected from the weather.

This is probably the BEST purchase I have ever made with Amazon! I live on an acre of land. I have chickens, guineas, dogs and an assortment of uninvited varmints. This seems to be the most fly infested year we've had. This zapper unit ts nothing but FABULOUS!! I can't believe how many flies it kills in a day! It is well worth the purchase price!
