There, he and the cutlers union he formed produced the finest steel cutlery, finished with the now-famous proprietary edge preferred globally by professional and home cooks. In 1891, Karl supplied the Swiss Army with its standard issue Soldiers Knife and in 1897 with the Officers Knife. In 1921, after the death of his mother, Victoria, and with the advent of stainless steel, then known as inoxydable" and used in the production of his cutlery, Karl changed the name of the company to Victorinox. It is from those humble beginnings that a worldwide icon was born.Today, Victorinox is still owned and operated by the Elsener family, and both the company and family still resides in the small village of Ibach, Switzerland. Care Tips for Swiss Army KnivesThe various tools are manufactured from high-quality steel with precisely tuned features that are essential for the particular application. The steel is tempered, annealed and polished to achieve the necessary hardness and provide optimum resistance to corrosion.SharpeningTo re-sharpen your knife, use a whetstone at an angle of 15 20. This will result in a cutting angle of 30 40. If sharpening on a grinding wheel, always cool with plenty of water to avoid excessive temperatures and the resulting damages that may occur.CleaningAfter youve used your Swiss Army Knife for all of its various applications, such as cutting open numerous boxes, you may notice that the blades begin to stick together. Opening and closing the blades in warm water several times will allow the tools to easily move again. Once they have dried, it is recommended, to apply a small drop of oil between the blade or tool shank and the spring. To optimally maintain the locking mechanism, periodically apply a drop of our recommended Swiss Army Knife Oil. Never put Swiss Army Knives in the dishwasher. ## Features - The perfect pocket knife for sawing wood and stripping wire in the outdoors - Swiss made pocket knife with 13 functions and two-component scales for outstanding grip - Includes a gutting blade and large lock blade for one hand ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00K3LH8X8 | | Best Sellers Rank | #190,193 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #562 in Camping Folding Knives #1,191 in Pocket Knives & Folding Knives | | Brand Name | Victorinox | | Color | Red | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars (272) | | Drive System | Sliding | | Folded Size | 5.1 x 1.3 x 1.0" | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00046928043842, 07611160044549, 07611160122605 | | Included Components | 13 Functions | | Item Dimensions | 3.58 x 1.02 x 0.67 inches | | Item Highlight | Swiss Made 13 Function Outdoor Tool with Large One Hand Lock Blade, Gutting Blade, Wood Saw, and Non-Slip Dual Components | | Item Length | 5.1 inches | | Item Type Name | Pocket Knife | | Item Weight | 6.88 ounces | | Manufacturer | Victorinox | | Manufacturer Part Number | 0.9583.MC | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Victorinox provides a lifetime guarantee against defects in material and workmanship | | Material Type | Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, Stainless Steel | | Model Number | 0.9583.MC | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | UPC | 046928043842 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Victorinox - **Color:** Red - **Item Weight:** 6.88 ounces - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 3.58 x 1.02 x 0.67 inches - **Material:** Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, Stainless Steel ## Images ![Rangergrip 57 Hunter Pocket Knife 13 Functions, Red/Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71F8Cct2BcL.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - Victorinox Ranger 57 M Swiss Army Knife, 13 Function Swiss Made Pocket Knife with 2 Blades (Large and Gutting Blade), Corkscrew and Wood Saw - Red/Black - Victorinox Mini-Tools 4 Pieces, Compact, Swiss Made for 84, 85, 91 and 111 mm Swiss Army Knives with Corkscrew - Multicolored - Victorinox 4.3323-X1 Pocket Knife Sharpener Perfect Portable Solution for Sharpening All Your Straight Blades in Black 9.1 inches --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/21572506-rangergrip-57-hunter-pocket-knife-13-functions-red-black](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/21572506-rangergrip-57-hunter-pocket-knife-13-functions-red-black) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-19*
