Acer Aspire TC-895-UA92 Desktop Running Like New After 5 years
I originally bought this desktop to replace my computer that was on the decline and failing. I work with audio and video production and needed something within ($500) budget and powerful enough to be able to handle audio recording along with video creation(s). My brother and I were going to build one, but this had all the makings and saved $70(?) in the process. Using Reason 10 and After Effects (15) as a stationary studio environment, this computer has outperformed my expectations. Before this computer, rendering 3-5min videos took on average 3-8hours (depending on effects used). Now, this computer can render those same videos anywhere within 30mins - 3 hours. After 4 hrs of everyday use, this computer still runs like the first day. Startup takes only about 4 secs and loading my audio/video sessions about 8 seconds. I make sure if the computer is not going to be in use for more than 4 hrs, it sleeps and more than 8 hours it turns off. I automatically upload files to my OneDrive so that the PC memory stays clan, that might be a good idea for others. I purchased this at $520 and it's currently $540 and should give confidence on ROI/price time decay. Never upgraded to Win11, still on stock Win10 and again, works like the first day, awesome!

Very speedy PC! Works great as a DAW, too.
I'm a radio guy and a musician, and I recently upgraded to this PC for work in my home studio. I did trick it out a bit by swapping one of the RAM modules to a larger Crucial stick which boosted the RAM to a total of 24GB, installing a 4TB Western Digital enterprise grade 7200 rpm hard drive, and a BeQuiet! 92mm fan. All of the installed components installed without a hitch, and it's now a very zippy PC. I don't know about gaming or editing video because I haven't used it for that, but if you're wondering if this PC would work well for audio recording, it certainly does. I have at least a couple of hundred VST instruments including Native Instruments Kontakt, Spitfire Labs and the resource-hungry Vital synthesizer, and layering multiple VSTs per track in Reaper, it takes everything I've thrown at it without bogging down. And that's recording 40 tracks with VST synths on roughly half of those and audio on the other half, plus effect plugins. Adobe Audition and Ableton Live 10 both work seamlessly on this machine too. (Incidentally, I'm using an ASIO4All enabled Behringer USB audio interface with this unit in case you're wondering if it's compatible.) Windows 10 boot up is ridiculously quick thanks to the SSD, taking about 6 seconds. To conserve on the SSD, I only have Windows 10 on the SSD with all of the software and other files on the 4TB hard drive. The 300w proprietary power supply has been adequate to power the PC and installed components, and I don't plan on adding anything else. I would also recommend installing a good 7200 rpm hard drive to save on the SSD, and the BeQuiet 92mm fan to the rear vents on the case. I compared the CPU temps before and after the fan install with the free Core Temp app, and the fan shaves about 8-10 degrees off the CPUs operating temperature under load, and that's a good thing. Of course, it's also rocket-fast for Photoshop, web browsing and everything else I've tried with it. I have around $650 in it with the upgrades, and it's the best $650 I've spent on a computer. If you're looking to upgrade to a faster PC, you'd be hard pressed to find a better one for the money. I'm planning on picking up another one just like it to replace the other PC in my studio, in fact.

It CAN run games with the right GPU!
CONS: - Since the power supply type is weird and rare it will be hard to replace. It sits at 300 or watts or so which limits choices for a GPU if u do intend on adding one later on - price is a bit inflated (was $499 when i bought it) - 1 ssd card slot - limited space inside the case - can be slightly loud in a quiet room (at least with my GPU) PROS: -perfect for streaming, watching videos, and office work as intended - good for running DAWs like FL studio with several vsts active - can run most modern games at 60fps on medium settings with at most maybe a GTX 1050, 1060 or somewhere in that range otherwise you may get away with some really old games like halo 2 with itโs built-in intel UHD graphics card -stream in 4k -Lots of USB ports Basically if you want a clean powerful office desktop you will love it. Having thoughts of gaming with it sometime later? Perfectly fine, though itโs not intended. just know you wonโt have the highest settings on big games and there are better options out there if you want it specifically for gaming.

Great PC
Dec 2020: This thing boots up in 10 seconds!! My 8 yr old Acer Aspire laptop has worked flawlessly even after changing up to a Samsung EVO SSD and installing Windows 10 but it takes 2 1/2 MINUTES to boot up. Couldn't take that any more! Stayed with Acer Aspire cause their reliable , but bought a Desktop not another laptop. So this was a steal at $449 on Amazon!! Works great . Would buy again. I'm not a techie needing to add "upgrades or gaming capabilities". Just out of the box easy setup 10 minutes!! More speed and memory than I'll ever need. Excellent ACER on-line support groups. UPDATE: 3 months and this Acer is fantastic! Bought here Nov 2020 for $225 LESS than current price! Although I had Win 10 Home and now they sell it with Win 10 PRO. BUY IT! Addendum April 1. 2024, 3years and 4 months now and this computer is FLAWLESS!! Thank you ACER!

Can it play games? Somewhat, yes!
I bought this for basic use/working from home and it has served me well in that regard. However, I got curious as to what could be done to get some games going on it, and here is what I found: I just installed a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 (also purchased here) to this PC and I must say, it's not a bad setup for the casual gamer such as myself. Power runs through the PCI so there are no wires to worry about, just plug and play! No new power supply needed. As a casual, I can only say for certain that it allows me to play Fortnite and Genshin Impact beautifully on high settings. The PC already played Fortnite, albeit on low/mid settings, but it now plays on epic. Genshin Impact wouldn't even load up before, and now it plays on high settings with nary a sign of struggle. The only other thing I've done to this PC since buying it is upgrade to the max 32g ram via 2 16g ram sticks I got from Crucial. Well, I did add a second hard drive and I had to move that out of the way in order for this card to fit, but it was easy to just put it right back after instillation.

If you have an old monitor w/o an HDMI port just get a "VGA to HDMI adapter"
Very fast and quiet computer and stays cool even though it sits in a computer cabinet of my desk. My old HP tower would heat up like a heater was in the cabinet, but not so with this Acer Aspire. I have an old HP monitor from 2010 without an HDMI port so in order to plug it into the Acer was buy a $6 "VGA TO HDMI ADAPTER" (I got at Walmart for $6). Just keep the old clunky VGA cable plugged into your old monitor like before then attach the "VGA portion of the adapter to your VGA and then plug the HDMI end into the Acer. This computer is just as fast as my HP and for 1/3 the cost! CONS: keyboard and mouse that comes with this are good to set up the computer then afterward set up your wireless keyboard and mouse you must buy separately. I went and bought a lighted up keyboard and wireless mouse but didn't connect them by BLUETOOTH until AFTER I did the initial setup with the wired keyboard and mouse that was included. They seem to be just disposable ones for setup only since they operate at a very minimal rate but do get the setup job done.

Very good performance, even with a weakness for on-board video to handle two 1920*1080 displays
This compact unit is very power efficient and with enough processing horse-power, except for the weak on-board video, which is only good for one 1920*1080 display at near 60Hz refresh rate. Nevertheless, I find this unit running great with my intensive circuit simulation/emulation, schematic design and layout, and etc. BTW, to use multiple displays (I usually use 3, sometimes 4), adding an external docking station (I have my DELL D3100 USB 3.0 docking station) is almost a must (especially with 4k displays). If you use two high def displays with the on-board two HDMI's, don't be surprised as I did when your keyboard and mouse become sluggish every now and then. It is because the on-board video is too weak to handle them, either a decent video card or a capable docking station will solve that problem.

Fast and Very Nice
I currently now have 4 Acer Computers. A Windows Laptop, Chromebook Laptop, Wife's Desktop and now this Desktop for myself. I have had absolutely NO issues with any of them! This computer is fast and is plenty for what I use it for. My wife and I are 64 years old and play mostly Big Fish Games with no issues. I would imagine that if you wanted to play more powerful games you would want a graphics card, but, for us it is plenty. It does have a cooling fan installed but the only time you hear it at all is when it's ramping up but still quiet. Because of the SSD it stays cool. Nice computer for the price!

Great budget entry to mid level com desktop computer
Price was ok for this, a bit more than same models with the 1tb hard but you get the sad instead. I had extra drives so I popped in an extra 1tb and a mini GTX 1050 2gb. It has all the Modern connections and good performance, it is a small box and although it shows room for a 2nd traditional hard drive, I found it way to tight to try and put a 2nd 3.5" drive so I just used the 512gb side, and 1 spare 1TB had. You might be able to get the 2nd had in there is it is a 2.5", but if you have a GPU upgrade that is a larger model you likely won't be able to fit both, it will be one or the other unless the GPU is a mini model. I would like 32gb of memory instead of the odd 12gb pairing, but compared to other computers of the same configuration, the cost was very good and upgrading later is a suitable option. The only thing I question is the listing said VR Ready which I do not believe the onboard Intel video is capable of meeting the minimum requirements of since you need at least a dedicated GPU minimum of a GTX 1660 which you have to buy separately. The inclusion of the mouse and keyboard are nice starters but they are very cheap quality. Another thing was the case did not have thumb screws so you have to use a screw driver. The build quality of acer is not as good as some others like Dell, but it is light weight and the price is very good. Acer other models with GPU and gaming case but same specs are easily twice the amount for the same configuration. So it's well worth it.

Good Budget Pc๐
I've had this pc for about 2 in a half weeks now and I have to say, I'm very impressed the cpu is very responsive and quick and since I don't have access to ethernet, the wireless lan is a big plus even though ethernet is more responsive. I use this pc for browsing, streaming, and productivity and I gotta say, its pretty good. With the additional 12 gb ram, I'm able to open more tabs which is nice. I havent had any issues with the product so I am unable to tell you about that. Overall, pretty good product. Okay for light gaming. But if you plan on just using this for office work while browsing the internet while using it for streaming its pretty good.

Impressive basic specs
You get a lot of features for this price. Lost one star due to sound driver dying after 8 months. Otherwise I am very impressed and might consider purchasing another later this year.

I LOVE THIS COMPUTER
For a budget computer I am quite amazed at just how fast it is. Lightning speed thanks to Intel. Also very quiet even with the fan on. My 3D MMO game (Tanki Online) loads quickly and plays seamlessly. Please don't ask me if other games will play because I don't know. My Verdict? I LOVE IT! and I am HAPPY to give the Acer Aspire TC-895-UA92 Desktop 5 STARS!
